Offseason Plan + Lauri Thread

IF we go the tank / rebuild route and trade Lauri, why not to the Pelicans?

They have the Lakers 2025 unprotected and the Bucks 2027 unprotected 1sts. Add in Jordan Hawkins and another 1st along with empty salary to match.

Not saying it's the best route. Just saying the Rockettes and OKC aren't the only rich partners.

That would be a fun team to watch in New Orleans.

Decent trade for us. I might want one more piece with some value though. It's pretty close to fair but as your trade stands I think we get the short end of the stick. (Lakers 2025 pick probably won't be very good if they try to take another shot at contention)

I say no to that trade.

If Lakers really would call to Jazz asking a chance to trade for Lauri during the draft night what Ainge should to do?
Tell him to kick rocks. I just saw a pic of Lauri hanging with Smith at a RSL game and saw him out hiking with Hardy. I think the extension is basically done (some rumors on the amounts and also him backing out of the olympics). So I think even a godfather offer is a flat no right now. Lakers don't have the goods for a good enough offer. I think it might take an absolutely obscene offer. Like Houston sends smith jr., #3, all the brooklyn picks they own - I think its like 2 or 3 through swaps... maybe more.

Just in: Lauri is not playing for Team Finland Olympic qualifiers "for health reasons". Bum just don't wanna risk his millions.
As cool it obviously would've been to see Finland playing summer Olympics in Paris the odds and chances for that were already theoretical.
Now it is NO chances at all. Still right decision to skip national team games for this year.
Lauri has contract season coming so it's better for this way as much it sucks for susijengi.

That's true. But if there is smoke then there is fire also.
Interesting off season coming for sure especially then if Ainge's talks for '' going all in and big hunting'' really turns reality.

I do understand that Lakers do not have much assets for trading Lauri.
But what then if some other team like OKC etc makes very serious trade offer for Lauri and that offer is too good to say no.
