What's new

Ohhhhh nooo

Guess I won't be snapping into a SlimJim any time soon.

On May 20, 2011, TMZ reported that Savage suffered a heart attack around 10AM while driving on a highway in Tampa, Florida before losing control of the vehicle and crashing. It was later confirmed by Savage's brother, Lanny Poffo.[4] According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Savage was driving a 2009 Jeep Wrangler when he "veered across a concrete median ... through oncoming traffic ... and "collided head-on with a tree." His wife Lynn was a passenger but survived with "minor injuries". According to officials, both were wearing their seat belts at the time.

Sad stuff.

That's sad. I always liked to do a Macho Man Savage impression. That he died of a heart attack is not a surprise. That he wasn't in the ring wrestling the Ayatollah is.

Watching his wrestling interviews, I've come to the conclussion that he was high on cocaine pretty much his entire career.

One of the greats of all-time. For wrestling fans...it's a sad day. Even more sad that he was never inducted into the HOF, which is ridiculous.

Hard to believe that picture of health suffered a heart attack.

That picture of health is roided out beyond belief. It's not normal for a 50 year old to look like that. If you pay attention there are a lot of wrestlers and body builders that die of heart attacks in their mid to late 50's. Coincidence? Perhaps but the massive doses they use certainly can't have helped.

Good catch.
