What's new

Okay - Fess up. What movie classics have you never seen?

Siro, you're aware of Oz's relationship to labor politics, right? I'm surprised you've never seen it.

No, I wasn't aware. Been planning to watch it for the last decade. I'll watch it soon.

have you watched Amy Schumer's version of 12 Angry Men? I guarantee you'll enjoy it.

It won an Emmy, didn't it? I remember hearing the hubbub about it a while back, but I never got around to watching it. I don't have cable and the whole thing wasn't on YouTube when i casually looked for it.

I've only seen 6 of those....maybe 5 because I can't remember if I've actually seen Jaws or not. I feel like I have, but that might just be memories of a Universal Studios theme park ride cropping in. My grandparents even owned a local movie/pizza chain in Utah when I was growing up in the 90's...I had every movie known to man at that point at my disposal....yet every time I look at lists like this....I watched absolutely nothing. It was like all Terminator, Home Alone, and.....Land Before Time....20 times each.

Good God, I've seen about all but ten of these.

This list is pretty good, some are kinda wtf, but not a bad place to start.

Are you only like 30-40 years old? For some reason I thought you're much older than that... or may be I'm thinking of another poster...

I know it's hard to believe because I'm such a fount of wisdom spewing across Jazzfanz.......it's as if I've lived 800 years.......but I am indeed a millennial.

I don't know about the Emmy. It was bloody brilliant, though. I think I saw it on Hulu Plus.

It's pretty bad.

Depicts women as witches.
Makes fun of midgets.
Dorothy repeatedly clicks her heels and chants something about homos.

I kid.. my humor is really off today.
I saw this one synopsis: "Young girl arrives in new area and immediately kills the first person she sees. Afterwards she meets up with 3 strangers to kill again".

I've seen 61 of these movies. Raging Bull at #4 is also the highest on the list I haven't seen. Of the remaining 39 I haven't seen, I'm not all that interested in most of them. Of the ones I have seen, there are many that I would like to see again.

I've seen 71 out of 100, which I think puts me as second in the thread. With kicky still to weigh in of course, I'd assume he's seen more than I have. Here are the ones I haven't seen; most are ones I'm not particularly interested in but a few are ones I plan to watch someday:

Raging Bull
Gone with the Wind
On the Waterfront
Sunset Blvd.
From Here to Eternity
Unforgiven
A Clockwork Orange
Doctor Zhivago
Platoon
The Pianist
The Exorcist
The Deer Hunter
All Quiet on the Western Front
Bonnie and Clyde
City Lights
A Place in the Sun
Midnight Cowboy
Giant
The Grapes of Wrath
Shane
Nashville
Network
Terms of Endearment
Pulp Fiction
Stagecoach
Mutiny on the Bounty
The Great Dictator
Wuthering Heights
Rebel Without a Cause

And I should get bonus points because I actually just watched Mr. Smith Goes to Washington last night (for the second or third time).

Off the top of my head:

Scarface
All the Godfathers
Schindler's list
Last of the Mohicans
The Sixth Sense
The Hunt for Red October
Good Will Hunting (just kidding)

*Edit* I was expecting several WTF wrong with you on The Dogfather, then I read the thread post-post.

That is one of the movies I have meant to watch my entire life and haven't yet.

Definitely one to watch! Jimmy Stewart is amazing in it.

(Not sure whether it made me feel better or worse about the current state of politics.)
