What's new

One player. One aspect of their game you want improved.

Should probably change Burks one. Iirc I have seen numbers posted showing that Burks is great in catch and shoot (over 40% from three.... Hayward was like 36% for comparison)
Should probably change Burks to better health, or defense, or bbiq or something.

That's why I threw "rate" in there-- his percentages don't matter if he's making 0.8 3s a game.

He needs to keep the percentages while draining 2 3s a game. With hood, Hill, and Haywars penetrating he's gonna get open looks all game long. That's an absolutely NECESARRY addition to his game. If he doesn't become a huge three point threat with Utah, his career will suffer

He just needs to make quicker decisions. When he passes up that three to dribble or take a step in two I want to kill myself.

He just needs to simplify... if you can get the three friggin take it... first option everytime. If not then pump and go. Lyles is great at this although I'd love to see him take it more often too... he at least does something quickly off the close out.

I love AB Doe... think if he figured things out upstairs and was healthy could be a BAWSE!

There really isn't a wing at his level of money that could offer us what he COULD offer.

I'm not too worried about his defence-- effort should be enough if you're a backup wing playing 25min a game. He isn't a complete pylon out there.

I'm more worried about him supplying this team's intense need for three-point shooting. Joe ****ing Ingles was our most dangerous threat as the season stretched (he had a couple of dope 3rd quarters, mind you). We need that from Alec.

Exactly and he is relatively cheap. I just see him out there and there is a lot he could do and I think the processing time is too much. For now, shoot the three when it's there... If they close to hard then blow by them. I just see pieces of things he can do and he hasn't been healthy enough to put it all together.
Good Burks discussion

Gobert - catching passes/going strong to the basket/drawing fouls/making free throws (they are all connected)

Hayward - closing out games (decision making/driving/passing/shooting)

Exum -- confidence and aggressiveness and willing to take ball into the paint and either score or dish
Gobert -- free throw shooting (70% next year, 75% after that). Need him to close games. Quin said that he refused to pull Rudy late (forcing the issue on development), but then as we were scratching for playoffs, he often pulled him out. I am bullish on this since Rudy's shot fundamentals look solid (versus Shaq, DeAndre, others). I think it is a lack of focus at the line.

I think Exum/Gobert go back to their alley-oops and high bounce passes that got fans and team mates fired up.So for Gobert, back to receiving passes and scoring deep in the paint and for Exum pushing the slow as molasses pace that Hayward and Hood initiate.Jazz don't need to wait on a young Favors/Gobert on fast breaks, they have Hayward/Hood/Burks/and now GHill to convert turnovers into points.

Gobert - rim protection

Hood - 3 point shooting

I'd rather have a guy in the top 1% of the league in one area than everybody okay at everything. Give me improvement in these two areas, and the Jazz are a contender.

Exum- Penetration. Get to the rim, nobody can stop you. And I'm sure in time he will learn this. When he does he'll be a beast.
Gobert- All around offensive game. Develop some post moves, a nice little jumper out to 10-15 feet, and improve free throw shooting.

And a bonus one
Hayward- Improve your offense and be a go-to player when we need you at the end of games. Shooting percentages were trash last year and you kept disappearing. The team is probably going to pay you the max next year (even though they shouldn't) so play like a max player.

Hayward-lob passes.

Final tried a few last year but for years would only do pocket and bounce passes on pick and rolls. Gotta be able to put defensive bigs on their heels with the lob passes to the rolling big.

Exum - Courage
Favors - Heart
Burks - Brain
