One sobering incident sums up this Jazz team

Pippin should have got a tech too.
I don't understand how refs can let Pippin and Barrea get away with walking up to the foul shooter while he is on the free throw line in the first place, and then to allow the physical contact as well, this should have been a 2nd tech in both instances.

Refs shouldn't let players cheat or get an unfair advantage.

Utah needed Jeff Hornacek in uniform for that - not to shoot the FT's but to defend Hayward against Barea.

I don't like the physical contact-part but talking, changing lane positions at the last minute - that's all gamesmanship that's part of being a competitor. You've got to me tougher (physicall and mentally) to overcome those things if you want to win in this league.

They needed Raja or Earl out there, i'm sure they would have gotten into it with barea

Kind of like you said when Earl came over and slapped the ball out of Dirk's hands after he did that to Favors. Dirk did that because he can get away with it, Barea had the same feeling. They don't give out techs for stuff like that. You have to stand up for yourself or have a veteran stand up for you.

The refs weren't going to decide this game with a tech late in the 4th quarter, with the game still in doubt, with two relatively unknown players. You people are morons if you think otherwise. They would have separated the two, and gone on with business as usual.

The very worst-scenario would have been a double tech. Meh. That wouldn't have done anything.

More than anything, this team needs to show some toughness and nasty. They're soft as hell.

Personally, I'd gladly sacrifice a game or two if it meant proving to the league that we're not all a bunch of pansies.
