Really did you expect Burke to just step in and be an All-star? Stockton didn't even start his first few years. Yea I know we had Ricky Green but he wasn't ready as a rookie. People need to calm down about Burke. I can't believe how people have turned on him because he had a bad summer league. I saw improvement. He made more jumpshots in this game than he did in all of his summer games. He ran the pick and roll a few times. Lucas and everyone's darling Machado played ok. None of the PGs looked NBA ready but Burke still has the most potential. Machado is not a rookie and he can't shoot either. He certainly is worthy as the 3rd guard but please some of you make it sound as he is the next big thing.
plus kanter likes to bang and al liked to play with himself.
huh?
My observation...
1. We suck!
2. We suck!
3. We suck
50. We will have a top 3 pick.
No way in hell does the nba let Wiggins go to UtAh. The question is who do we draft with the 2end pick
Really?
Yeah. If Burks can't play pg then why would you have him share pg mins to begin with.
The way I see it the offense(starters)will be ran through Hayward so Burke will have a better chance to actually play pg when Hayward is out. Running that flex offense just turns trey into a spare tire. If we are going to run that offense we need a pg who is a threat and keeps his man off balance. I think Burks is a better cutter and will take better shots. The second unit will not have the point forward(Hayward) advantage of the starters. Rush could be that guy but I think a better use for him is a spread the D catch and shoot guy. Maybe I am wrong but I see Burke playing better ball under those circumstances than with the starting lineup.
I think what we are talking about is 48min of chemistry and matchups. I don't think Trey fits very well into that flex offense. On the second unit he would keep the ball in his hands longer and learn how to become a pass first point guard instead of just the guy that brings the ball up the court.Man we are talking about starting the position here. Burks is capable of sharing mins at PG, 10-12 mins would be ideal to help Burke for instance. But that doesn't change the fact that he is not a PG.
I honestly thought like, "heyhey wouldn't stumble on this, he'll understand what I'm saying", while I was writing that post.
To me, it's not a contradiction, not even close.

Can we at least see Trey play with some decent bigs before we throw him under the bus?!!?!

Bench
1 Trey Burke(at this point only because he was a 9th pick)
2 Brandon Rush
3 Marvin Williams
4 Richard Jefferson
5 Rudy Gobert
So does anyone know what Favors said to Locke that made him laugh so hard? Locke had just said how all Favors said to him all camp was "He was ready." Then Locke asked him what it was like working with "That man over there [Malone]." Then Favors says something and then everyone laughs. Can anyone understand it? It's at the 13:40 mark.

I am not throwing him under the bus I honestly think he would have a better season with the second unit. I am throwing him on the bus(methinks).
Does Howard have a go to move? Cause I can see favors becoming similar to him (but better of course)
