Yes, but I wanted Brand. I saw him more in the mold of a Malone. I think maybe that was still the time that we thought Lopez would be our Stockton.
Should of drafted Parker

Its hard to believe anyone would want Mike Conley. How do you sell an aging, underperforming PG on a bad 1 year contract. Infection give us your best pitch.
It is an expiring. Someone might value that. No idea who however. Its hard to believe anyone would want Mike Conley. How do you sell an aging, underperforming PG on a bad 1 year contract. Infection give us your best pitch.
I'm not so sure about that. I think Denver is A-ok with where they are. They just took it to us and then took it to the Clippers and now are battling the Lakers for a chance for a title.Chicago now has a new GM... he was the Denver assistant so likely has DL's number blocked. I'm not sure what mode they will operate in. A conley for OP jr. deal straight up ain't happing. They already have too many guards that need playing time. I could see them interested in Al or Tobias. Al being the old head that teaches the young bigs how to defend. Tobias being a healthy combo forward to fill in the gaps. Both have bad contracts so likely Philly kicks in some draft capital.
They do the Macarena?Bruh but what happens when someone puts their hands up on his hips?
In that case, why not trading Conley for Tobias straight up? Porter have been plagued by injuries.
However I don't see this happening for the following reasons:
1) Why would Philly do it? If they blow it up, they should get young players (or solid starters bellow 30)+ picks
2) I like Tobias but I think Bojan at 17M/year give you 85% of his production.
3) Not long ago OPJ was on the Jazz radar. With all his injuries I'm wondering if that's still the case.
4) We lack depth. So if we trade Conley, we'll probably be looking at adding at least two decent players (probably role players) rather than one making 25-35M.
5) I'm not sure DL/Zanik are ready to move Conley. Usually the FO wants too see what they have in their hands before they pull the trigger. See how long it took to move Exum. It also took two years of Rubio, Crowder and Favors/Rudy to decide those players were expendable (or the lineup wasn't working in the case of Rudy/Favs). The FO will probably make moves around the edges rather than a big trade and then see what happens once Bojan is back. Then I can see a very active trade market at the deadline, not free agency. Key is who we get with the MLE and vet min with probably one minor trade during the offseason.
We stole two all stars from them... like highway robbery. I guarantee they wouldn't do those deals over and there is no reason they couldn't have Murray, DM, Jokic, and Rudy... trust me... they'd love to have that fit problem. They wouldn't trade Jokic for Gobert and wouldn't give us Murray for anything we have. Hell, if we called them and offered them Mitchell for MPJ...I'm not sure they take that trade. MPJ's potential is through the roof and he fits in so well with Jokic and Murray.
Nope... the correct answer is "they dip, you dip, we dip"They do the Macarena?
If I'm Philly, I want Conley. You get to add a player who is only there for one year. You get to dump a contract. IF Conley works out, you win a ton of games, you get to keep Simmons and Embiid, and you get an extension as a GM.Its hard to believe anyone would want Mike Conley. Philly hasn't "blown it up" until both Simmons and Embiid are gone. Until then, they are re-tooling. I could see how they'd want someone like Conley. Move Simmons to PF, Conley can handle the PG duties, Richardson and Shake can sit back and launch up threes. Conley can run PNR with Simmons and Embiid. AND they get rid of the worst contract in the NBA in Tobias?
This is a deal I could see Philly trying. It's also a deal I would run from if I'm Utah. There is no need for Tobias here, especially at that cost.
I agree. We would need a 3rd team for Tobias. I like Orlando as the 3rd team. Not sure what I would target from them. Bamba? Fournier? Gordon?
They need a guy that can create a shot off the dribble, can hit spot up shots off ball, and they need salary relief in the worst way. He'd be extremely interesting for Philly. If I'm Philly, I want Conley. You get to add a player who is only there for one year. You get to dump a contract. IF he doesn't work out, you still dumped a terrible contract, Conley walks and you move on from Simmons or Embiid, knowing it won't work.
In a lot of ways, it makes perfect sense.
Don't steal my terrible fake trades... they are terrible and fake but they are mine. What about....
Bulls get Horford and draft considerations from Philly
Sixers get Conley
Jazz get OPJ and draft considerations from Philly
I'm not a fan of OPJ, but he does make $6 million less than Conley and plays a position where we need more depth. I would only do this if the picks make it worth it.
You’re not the only one.I definitely wanted to poke @infection
If the Millers knew they could save $6M and be better, I wonder if they could force DL’s hand. I mean his hand pads are strong and Gail’s aging, so they’d need some help. What about....
