Options for the Jazz to add a stretch 4

smh. Millsap and Jefferson didn't leave for nothing. smh.

They did though. Just because we picked up a couple of crappy picks with the cap space, doesn't mean we got something for AlSap. It's not like those picks were a condition of Millferson leaving. They were gone regardless, and we just happened to be able to pick something up with the cap space.

Who knows, if they had been traded at the right time, we may have been able to grab some picks and take back somebody else's trash on a short deal. Never know at the deadline when teams are trying to make the playoffs. In which case, we might have gotten some good assets and still had the cap space to help GS get Iggy.

I'm gonna answer in the voice of Cappy_Smurf:

If those deals were out there, then they probably would have taken them. Their priorities were obviously financial flexibility and draft picks, and they weren't going to let any non-expiring deal get in the way of either one. As it is, that cap space turned into Rodney ****ing Hood and Tony Bradley.

I wonder if we could pry Gasol away from the Spurs. Can he play the 4 still or just the 5?

The whole thing about getting another 4, whoever we get should barely play (assuming we keep Favors). You don't really want to pay anything over the minimum for a 3rd PF. Maybe you find some young guy in SL or from the D-League to accept a partially guaranteed team friendly deal and hope he excels with the Stars and can move up in the depth chart when Favors inevitably leaves the team.

For me the ideal situation would be we find a home for Favors and get some good future assets back and are able to sign Patty Patterson to a 2 or 3 year deal.

I just find it super hard to find a good trade for Favors. Since Phoenix has officially dropped out of the Millsap race, they are probably still the main landing spot. The only piece I like of theirs that they are probably willing to part with is Derrick Jones Jr. I'm not interested in TJ Warren since he is on the last year of his rookie deal. Barbosa is only guaranteed 500K if cut before the 3rd. Get some kind of future pick from the Suns. I thought about Jarded Dudley, but he is also overpaid and just had major toe surgery.

That's a lot of moving parts in a short window of available time though. You have to clear the deal by Hayward and get Patterson to agree to an affordable deal before the 3rd.

Burks + Tomic for Trevor Booker. He's not really a stretch guy but he grabs boards and we need nasty. I think Bolomboy could bring that and more if he got the chance, which I'm not certain he would. In any case, maybe Tomic comes over if he can be featured and not buried on the bench.

I missed Booker so much last year. Fire. Passion. Bad ***. Jazz needed some late when the injuries were dragging the moral down.

I bet he would punch the **** out of Draymond.
