I watched two episodes, and while it isn't exactly my cup of tea, I am very happy Netflix succeeded in adding another top-notch show to its original programming lineup.
When was the last time you saw a high budget production with an almost entirely female cast? How about a series about the struggles of women prisoners?
Also, while WASP-out-of-her-element comedy is a bit tired, it isn't what drives the plot. That would be the stories of the individual characters, and what led them to where they are today.
It is a very solid show overall, and it shows the benefits of not being a slave to the ratings game.
