Orlando looking for third team in D12 to NJ

It would make me happy if they couldn't work this out and Dwight doesn't end up in NJ. For no other reason than not letting Dwight dictate where he goes after signing his extension.

I would rather have Dwight in NJ instead of Dallas or LA or some other Western Conference team.

Yeah, when you blow up your team like Orlando probably is going to do, the last thing you want to give us is draft picks.

I tell you, Dwight Howard will NEVER win a title in his prime.

Unless someone will win it for him when he's old.

I have no problem wishing he DOES end up in BK and then has reoccurring back problems his whole career. Sue me. It couldn't happen to a better/worse guy and that ****ing crazy team/GM.

Yeah, I'm a Bron hater, but LeBron is a saint compared to Howard. What a whiny little bitch.
I agree. It used to be a toss-up for me as to which guy I hated more, LeBron or Kobe. Now I've got to put Dwight right up there.
I will always hate the Lakers. But after this shameful spectacle by Howard, I think my player list goes: 1) Howard; 2) Kobe; 3) LeBron.

Why the hate for Humphries? He's actually had more rebounds and blocks than Millsap last year. Guys a horse in the paint... He could be a nice solution to Millsap's "I want an extension" and "I wanna be the starter" bits...

Kris Humphries had 29 double-doubles last year compared to Paul Millsap's 21 and Millsap played 3 more games than Humphries did.

You guys are probably part of the same group that thinks/thought that Luis Scola is a better player than Millsap, too.

But seriously, how dare the best and longest tenured player on the team hope he starts and wants to secure his future. What a malcontented primadonna.

Pea-brain fest is raging right now.

I would take Humphries the basketball player as our fourth big, no problem. If I believed he was humble enough to accept the role. The thing is I think he would never accept the role as a fourth big. The dude believes he's way better then he is. He was benched frequently his first go round in Utah because he shot all the time and never passed, and he is so self-absorbed that he did not realize that Kim Kardashian was using him as a giant stage prop for her reality show. How dense do you have to be? Long story short, I don't think Humphries would mesh well.

He was 19 or 20 when we drafted him in 2004. He's obviously grown to become a LOT better basketball player 8 years later... He's right now a BETTER player in the paint than Millsap. Millsap has developed a way better perimeter game, but lacks the length and foot quickness Humphries has, which he uses well as a rebounder.
If he was the only guy rebounding for the Nets last season, I'm actually even MORE impressed with Humphries...
I would only go after Humphries if Millsap were to play hardball with this contract extension thing and insisting on being a starter.
I actually don't think Humphries would have a problem coming off the bench as long as he got regular minutes.

FWIW I think Kanter should be our future 3rd big. With Favors starting with either Jefferson or Millsap (depending on how they go this year, and how much they're asking at the end of the year).

I'm leaning towards Favors at C and Millsap at PF, and letting Jefferson walk.

I just think our team is better served with Favors at the C position blocking shots and anchoring our defense. He's great at those put back dunks and doesn't really have a perimeter game. Also he's fast enough to attack other team's Center off the dribble (ala Amar'e in Phoenix). I know Favors had said he'd rather play the PF position. But he'd also said that he'd like to model his game on Amar'e and Amar'e was really successful in Phoenix playing the C while he struggle in NY playing the PF (He's fast enough to go around most C's but can't really attack against faster/stretch PF).

Favors at C, Millsap at PF and Kanter as our 3rd big. Then sign a cheap, serviceable 4th big as a back up.

Agreed. If all you care about is how many rebounds you can grab or how many double-doubles you log (imo double-doubles are becoming a completely overrated stat but I'll leave that for another time) regardless of situation, efficiency, skill set and defensive effort then I could see how you wouldn't mind replacing Millsap with Humphries.
Also, you don't sign Humphries "just in case" you encounter problems re-signing Millsap. You wait until a problem with Millsap arises, and then you look for a replacement. Humphries made $8 million last year - and while that salary figures to drop slightly, it's not insignificant to the point you add him to our glutony of big guys without knowing for sure you're shipping one of them out. Besides, even with Humphries' rebounding ability and decent offensive production, for my money he's still a mental midget who doesn't do the necessary things that help teams win games.

You're always so cocksure about how smart you are and how dumb everyone else is, Mrs. Palin. The rest of us know how the saying goes...

I'm sorry if I've offended you for suggesting that Scola and Humphries are the crap players that they are and that Millsap is better than that. Put a nipple on that bottle.

Don`t think there is much to get here, but if the rumours that Minnesota is going all-in for Pau Gasol are true, could we be a 3rd team here and get Derrick Williams while shipping Al/Millsap + pick to Lakers?

I'd be okay with a trade like this from a Jazz perspective, however, I'm not sure the other teams would do it. I think Gasol is the best player out of the bunch if the Lakers are going to take another swing for the fences.
