Rudy's too good to burn it down around. He gets you to borderline playoff with marginal talent around him. And if we tank, we lose Rudy, who hates to lose. Gordon had similar bad taste in his mouth after losing all those years.

I'm not talking about a full on 5-6 year rebuild. I'm just saying we should trade as many vets on big contracts as we can. Play Rudy and the young guys as much as possible. Gain assets, Get a better pick next year (because we wln't win as many games), gain cap space and attack free agency and the trade block hard next summer for a star. I'm talking about 1 to 2 year quick retooling of the roster that gives us an opportunity to get back to where we would have been with Hayward. Near the top of the West. Do you really think Gobert stays if we are 6-10 in the West every single year for the rest of his contract? Because that's what we're looking at right now.
