Over/Under on Alec Burks Projections

Burks will be good enough this year that we could probably use him to move up in next years draft if we want too. We might have the luck to get two really good picks next year. We will have plenty of assets, and a couple players in burks and rush who might be expendable, and maybe could net us a top small forward in the draft/trade.

BOO! We could also perhaps, parlay our picks. Alec is going to be a valuable player for this team, why trade that for an unsure prospect? Hopefully, we can either give picks to move up, or sign a solid FA with the cap space leftover.

I'm confused by what you were meaning by saying sell to all of the stats? Shouldn't it go:

Buy
Buy
Sell
Buy

Sorry for the confusion. "Sell" is disagreement, followed by what I think is more likely.

If he starts I will give him 18 PPG and if he is the 6th man I will give him 13 PPG.

This.

But I think Corbin finds a way to keep him on the bench.

U tools don't even know wut per 36 means? The quality of posting has gone way downhill. CORBIN TEH WURST.......minivan.

Sry, that's my turrets.

I think i read a quote from Lowe on here somewhere today that said he would have the 6th role and he was cool with that. don't hold me to that though, may be misremembering.

Found it

More Oram:

Alec wants more responsibility wants more accountability. The Jazz expectations will be Alec being the 6th man scorer off the bench, and Alec wants that responsibility, but he may not be ready.

Doubts Tinsley will be back.

Gobert is unpolished offensivly, will be a really good defensive player who will get rotation minutes this year.

Trey Burke will be a vocal leader, he is loud on the floor telling teamates what to do now. The team will need leadership.

Neto got FIBA clearance to practise and play in 3 games, but he won't join the Jazz for a couple of seasons.

I like burks, all I am saying is that he will be good enough to have trade value. Right now he does not have much value to anyone other than the jazz. If he does well, he will be a very valuable piece, either in trade or on the team. We will not always be able to keep all the guys if they all turn out to be great. We will always have to trade some of them away for rookie contracts or other pieces. If all of our core guys are good, losing one of them for another piece does not sting that bad.

Per 36:

19 pts
36% 3pt
44% 2pt
7 reb
4ast (if he's solely playing the 2)

Glad I'm not the only one who has noticed how good of a rebounder burks is

He is a good rebounder, but 7 per game is extremely optimistic, especially if he is scoring 19 ppg. That is LeBron James type of rebounding from the wing, and Lebron is like twice as big as Burks. I could see around 5 rpg for a shooting guard, and a little less if he plays more at point guard.

I'd feel bad for Burks playing with that second unit... I don't mind him off the bench but I hope he gets more minutes than Rush. And is on the court for the final two minutes.

It's interesting, they have been playing Burks kinda heavy at the 1 during summer league. I'm going over on the assists. He was actually good at sharing the ball when he played for CU and he's deadly when in control of the ball, so I'm easily going over on the FTA too.

It's mostly wait and see, hope he finally gets some significant minutes.
