Can't go by just the averages, GoBolts. The main reason the Jazz were so bad in '04/'05 were the injuries to Boozer and AK. It would likely take <20 wins to be involved in the Wiggins/Parker sweepstakes.

As I said, "for comparison sake" and that means as a lineup comparison. Averages certainly factor as probability vs the law of averages will tell us that this new core roster will most likely perform along a linear function, skill/experience/minutes. If that is translated to our roster and minutes are projected this team will perform below the 04-05 team. Of course there will be "outliers" ie one or two player will play above the projection and one or two will perform below. Also, there will be injuries as there most always are. I understand this is a "FAN" page so most people here will view the team they root for not with realistic expectations but with hopeful expectations. This is normal. Bottom line, I stick to my prediction of less than 25 wins but I am "hopeful" for the future (and this is why I continue to shell out a lot of $$ for too many season tickets each year).

A starting five of Favors-Kanter-Hayward-Burks-Burke bring you 35 wins this season but they will make the Playoffs the year after. I'm all for starting all of our young guys. If the Jazz bring back many veterans and start some of them, we will barely miss the Playoffs again. I hope that the Jazz finally understand that playing our young players is our only chance to improve.

Are you ready for an other year of wasting our young players, playing some veterans for big minutes and barely missing the Playoffs AGAIN?

25???? We're still going to win a very good amount of home games. If we go with a full youth movement we will struggle on the road big time, but that group should play pretty well at home.

I say we go 35-47.

there are lots of moves still to be made, but I doubt we end up a sub 25 win team. If we don't bring in a couple decent free agents though, we certainly won't make the playoffs.

55 wins if we go with the young guys.

You guys are assuming the young guys have some huge learning curve to climb. Burke is the only rookie on the squad. The core four have climbed it. They're ready.

since i doubt we will be making anymore significant moves i will predict over

i say like 27 wins

even though i think our bench sucks, too much talent to be under 25 wings

Bump.

For review purposes of course...

Especially for JimLes, Siro, JohnnyClutch and IBProfane.

In defense of IB, his prediction was under the assumption that the group of Burke, Burks, Hayward, Kanter and Favors would "lead the way". That didn't quite happen. Plus Burke missing those first 15 or so games really hurt those who predicted 30+ wins.
