Patrick Beverley Available

You realize that Q was internationally regarded for player development before taking this job, right? I think it's time you took another Valium. Or I can personally attest to the value of logging out of JFC for a while.

By coaches and players mind you.

He might have a reputation for player development, but sitting Exum for Mack in an unwinnable series was poor decision making. And there was no reason to play Diaw so much over Lyles since Diaw could barely move compared to GS. Wasted opportunities.

If Hayward leaves, we have to play Exum more. If he emerges,we need him. If he doesn't, we don't extend him.

I've warmed up to Beverley. If DL thinks this is the way to go, lets do it. His contract is amazing and we do need some good contracts going forward.

Yassssss! Even if Hayward leaves its a good deal. Now that stitches is on board this is the way to go for sure.

I think capspace has become more valuable in the last 12 hours so we need to take advantage.

And part of the changes made by the extension of the CBA has the MLE upgraded by 45%.

So MLE for this upcoming offseason is $8.40565 million.

The link you provided, on page 204 of the document, says $8.406, so they round it.

Your post was changed from when I read it to when I quoted it.

Sorry. I was worried about missing my train and posted in haste and then realized I quoted the taxpayer MLE and quickly switched it.

For anyone who cares about this stuff, the new CBA also upped the amount a team can receive in cash every year from $3 million to $5.1 million. That could go a long ways for the Jazz in trade conversations.

I don't like Beverley but we need a guy like this. that's why we miss booker

If he plays for us, it will be awesome. One of those players you don't want to play against but want to play with.

Pretty simplistic approach to who you play and why. Playing those who are playing best is the right message for the rest of the team and even for X. And calculating where and when you put people in based upon who they match up with, how it impacts their confidence, whether they are playing better as a starter or off the bench - all of that matters and factors in. Quinn is a great developer of talent and that has been obvious to anyone who is not looking through rose colored glasses. I am not a Mack fan but playing him where Quinn did made sense to me.

I think about 25 other teams would love to have Beverley on his current contract. The issue is probably not only whether the Jazz want to go for him over other options, but how their offer competes with those other teams.

I like it because it gives us way more leeway to give Exum some burn.

Way cheaper than Hill too of course.

Here's where it gets fascinating. I'm going to assume that acquiring Beverly or a similar vet PG with a far cheaper contract than George Hill is a means of clearing needed cap space. But we also need to put an excellent roster on the floor in order to convince Hayward to stay. So either 1) Hayward has expressed interest in staying but was concerned with the backup point guard play and wants a guarantee that issue will be solved; or 2) The Jazz have other additions planned - and already agreed to - that they're going to make to add a player that is better than Hill.
