Pau Gasol as a FA?

Stifle Tower

Punch Bowl Re-Filler
Pau is not happy with Hoiberg and the Bulls reportedly don't want him back. He liked the approach of Thibodeau so I'm guessing he prefers a team that emphasizes defense. I say go hard after him. Imagine a big rotation of Gobert, Favors, Pau and Lyles (don't re-sign Booker). And at the wings, go after Gay to have Hayward, Hood, Gay and Burks (release CJ).

There's always been a great rivalry between Pau and Rudy, but I think they respect each other as competitors. Jazz can afford to throw a ton of money at players for 2 years, but need cap/luxury tax space after that (if they plan on keeping their big 5).

This season isn't even over yet and we're talking about FA? I'm ready for the playoffs personally....

Lol. Add Gasol and Gay... Let's build a more complete team sign more players for less money that actually fit into what we need. Did I mention lol. So unnecessary.

So when we have injuries - as we always do - you're very comfortable with Johnson/Ingles and Booker (if he's resigned) and Withey getting major minutes? Good luck contending.

DL will try to add one significant FA this summer. I would guess a wing or a combo guard, but Jazz could also have room for a big if Booker isn't re-signed. And the team could use an upgrade over Booker. Guy has enthusiasm, but he can't shoot and he's not a good defender.

Who wouldn't want Pau? I would love Pau Gasol in Quin's system. A good passing big like he is.

U guys crack me up. Seriously.

I did add in my post we could sign others. And yes I'm comfortable with ingles and Booker and Whithy. Someone needs to develop him and give him minutes. It's ridiculous that he's one of the best defenders as a center and can't crack a rotation.

I guess the OP just wants to ignore the playing time issues and who's starting issues that are obvious.

Still comfortable with our team as is? We cant even beat a team of scrubs.

I don't believe in granting anyone automatic playing time. Let them ****ing earn it. If Favs and Rudy don't bring it, bench their sorry asses.

It's comical how some of you worry about playing time. Ever heard of injuries? Every team has them. If we had had another wing worth ****, Utah might be sitting in 5th right now. And the same thing with another big to play when Favors or Gobert go down.

When everyone is healthy, you just cut back on mins, or rest a player on the second night of a back- to-back. Look at the better teams: they all have depth. Utah has **** - all because DL is a cheap *** who wanted to keep Utah with the 28th payroll...again!

How about we sign someone that can shoot? Or a legit starting NBA pg? Mack has been a pleasant surprise but I'd still like to upgrade this position.

No ****, Sherlock, injuries happen, and we shouldn't hand anyone automatic PT but do you really think Gasol is gonna sign here, knowing Favors and Gobert are pretty damn firmly entrenched? Knowing we also have Lyles off the bench? Perhaps more importantly, do you really think it makes sense to get a guy for two years when we have ZERO ****ing shot at winning it all the next two years and in doing so cut into valuable time that guys like Lyles needs to develop? And we don't have depth because Exum, Burks and at other points, Favors, Rudy, Hood and Hayward have missed games. What do you want, that we go 12 deep with legit fringe starting NBA talent?

Seriously, drink some cranberry juice. Think things through. Do some ****ing thing.

Please don't go drama queen on us again. Optimistic Stifle is so much better. You and others who are freaking out right now are overreacting to one game. Yeah, it sucked, but "Next." Our focus should still be on our final three games and then the playoffs. After we've collected all that information it will be time to discuss constructing next year's team.

I think we can beat a team of scrubs. We just didn't that night. Do you think if we played them again we would lose again?

Do you think the Lakers and timberwolves are better than the warriors? (Memphis almost beat gs too)

Do you think the thunder are two points better than those same clippers scrubs?

Judging how good the jazz are based off one poor game is stupid and you know it.

This.
People think that we should have 5 starting caliber bigs, 4 starting caliber wings, and 3 starting caliber point guards or something.

Like that is what all the other teams are doing and it's super easy to do.

The thunder lost to the kings last night. They should add harden to play behind durant and get chris paul to back up westbrook, then they might be good enough to beat the kings.
