Perhaps the trade that puts us over the top!

....I don't usually suggest such things....but since we need a 2 guard that can actually make open jumpers consistently....and the Pistons probably are looking to unload payroll and get younger....what would they take from us for Hamilton? We've got enough defense now to camouflage his defensive weaknesses....and he's a great spot up/coming off screens shooter....it's a win win situation for both teams!

I was just thinking about this the other night... Another guy that is just rotting on the bench is Michael Pietrus, he could give us instant offense off of the bench and you can play him or CJ at the 2... But Hamilton would be much better and his game is TAILOR MADE for this team...

He's over the hill and not needed. Maybe 3 years ago. Not to mention I believe his contract is still terrible(I'll have to look). No thanks.

Very good defender but he is the king of chuckers. Too many occasional threes, ill-advised shots, no ball movement, no IQ, pure athleticism but rarely used.

We should also trade AK for Marion and we should trade Boozer. Anyone know if Jeff Foster is available?

Since it's 2010 no. Makes $12.5 million this year and next. Were it 2005 I'd be estatic with this trade - but he'll be 33 in February and his numbers have steadily declined the past 3 seasons - not to mention the extra $12 million Utah would have with a new CBA in place next season.

No wait guys, I have a better idea!

Lets trade for Corey Maggette!

Or here's another trade idea you've never heard, how about Steve Jackson?

Maybe we could trade for Jeff Foster. We could trade Harpring for Jeff Foster.

Or here's the best, k, we could trade Harpring and the NY pick for Chris Kaman.

We should have some expiring contracts with Giricek. Maybe somebody would give us something for Rafael Araujo?

What do you guys think?

Okay, I think you guys have beaten the fact that this is an old trade idea into the ground. Once upon a time, I would have thought Ben Gordon would be a good fit for the Jazz too, but that was years ago.

I already made this joke.

You need some new shtick.

wow we have never heard this idea before.....

..I know we've heard this idea before...but 25 games into the season we now have come to grips with the fact that the thing most needed by this squad is a running mate for Deron who can make open jump shots. Now, that being said, it's true, we are paying more than we would like for Hamilton, but he's going to be available, it's not a turribly bad long term contract....and if we want to at least give the Lakers a run for there money, we are going to need another outside shooter who is more consistent than what we have now. I'm saying the risk/reward factor is well within reason. Who could we give the Pistons to make them at least think about the deal without making the risk factor to one sided?

Except you have no idea what your talking about. Hamilton was a great mid range shooter but never took a ton of outside shots. He's nothing like a player we need right now. And his price tag is 20M with the tax. And he kills any chance the Jazz would have at resigning AK next year or signing somebody to replace Ak.

This is a stupid idea and there is no question about that.

But Hamilton wears a mask and masks are way cool.
