Phoenix Tank

Looks like they are in tank mode too. A 4 player for 1 trade with the Sixers for an injured Emeka Okafor and it appears Dionte Christmas has made the roster (he played in summer league for the Jazz).

Philly's best players are Evan Turner and Thaddeus Young. They also could start Kwame Brown at times this year.

They are sprinting away from the rest of the tankers.

Rumor about Goran Dragic to the Jazz from the Suns. He has 3 years and $24m left on his deal. Would you do it? If the Jazz didn't sign Tinsley, I would seriously consider it and if Utah was only giving up an expiring contract like Biedrens.

So we can stick Burke on the bench?

We are clearly better than PHX, and PHL, but who knows how the lottery balls or however they do it now (computer program?) will turn out.

Clearly if we are in the bottom 5 we have a chance to pick an all-star/superstar. We probably won't have the worst record in the NBA unless we are hit
with the injury bug.

Them tanking is not a big deal. Let's just say Phoenix and Philadelphia tank better than everyone and finish with the worst record and second worst record. That just gives them a bunch of combinations, not necessarily the top picks.

I can't believe the Jazz would bite on Dragic. Maybe if the Suns send one of their 2014 first rounders, but it would be a hit on the money earmarked for extensions/signing Hayward, Kanter, Burks, etc.

I was hoping for a stickied thread for following tank jobs, similar to the following of the Knicks and Warriors threads.

No, I don't think it is. The only source I can locate is this:

Not exactly inside information and not really a proposed trade (i.e. no details about whom the Jazz might trade). Just speculation that Dragic could make the Jazz a contender and a lame closer: "Jazz management would be wise to make an offer now and allow the team to build some chemistry before the playoffs begin." Did I miss something? Are the playoffs right around the corner?

Trading for a PG to help us win more games now and sacrifice some of the future. Sounds like the jazz of old, not the Lindsey era

I don't expect the Jazz to be in the bottom three or four. I think we'll land in the 5-8 spot and still wind up with an all-star caliber player. Sure it would be nice to get a Wiggins, Parker, Randle or Exum, but the next tier down from those guys isn't too shabby, either. I actually wouldn't be too disappointed with the Harrison twins.
