I remember when we drafted Evans, KOC compared him to Dwight Howard. I think most of us snickered.

Well, as far as a "throw it up and I'll make it happen" kinda guy, I can see where KOC was coming from. Loving it.

Jeffers needs to recognize he is not getting that shot up with 2 man around him, this isnt the D league.
I'm liking Evans, just throw the ball in the air near him and he'll finish. You see how he shot 60% in college.

We need to find out what scout found Evans. Has to be the same guy who targeted Millsap given the geographical area. The guy is obviously an NBA player and yet nobody had him on their draft boards. How was he not the best player on his college team?

Evan's drawing of Sloan..... Did you see it? Sloan didn't like it or the crooked nose. Will this help or hurt him? If you find the picture online somewhere, please post it.

Actually, I heard Sloan loved it. He was joking about how Evan's friend had drawn him with a crooked nose. Evans admitted he had drawn it, and Sloan said he thought it looked good.

Yeah Jeffers seems to be a bigger black hole than Jefferson when he gets the ball in the paint. He should just kick it out and reset unless there isn't a crowd down there.

He has two head coaches, each for two years a piece. Both were very guard oriented and forced Jeremy to play the 5, which was not his natural position at all. Jeremy definitely had the most potential of anyone he played with in college (including Courtney Lee), he just never had a "big man" coach and was forced out of position (sticking with track and field didn't help the whole weight situation either). Sloan/Jazz are the best team in the NBA at finding and developing talent. Jeremy will progress at a very quick pace here.

Qhick thoughts:
-Jefferson's low-post game is impressive - especially that left-shoulder jump hook he seemingly can get off whenever he wants; if he can knock down that 15-foot baseline jumper consistently he'll be a matchup nightmare for most centers

-I'd like to see Millsap go to the rim more, he's a good mid-range shooter but just read the other day that last year he increased his mid-range FG attempts and both his FT and offensive rebounding rate went down; he should be posting Turkoglu up every time or it's just a mismatch at the other end

-First-team offense looked pretty good in most of their sets but w/out Booze their screen-roll game isn't quite there (Boozer and Deron had a great chemistry in knowing when to slip, when to pop, when to roll) and as a result Deron's been settling for more jumpers coming off the top.

-The guy who replaces Korver isn't going to be Haywood, but Bell, as he's the player most capable of converting those curls and pindowns that Korver got in the halfcourt offense

-Impressed with Fesenko's mobility and touch around the basket

The only comparison of Evans to Dwight Howard KOC made was regarding their athletic numbers in pre-draft workouts-not anything regarding their play, and Evans is certainly showing that that athleticism off so far this preseason.

Damn, Hayward needs to learn to run around these screens hard, it looks like he isnt giving it 100% and thats why he cant get open.

Yeah, but you couldn't have had a better athlete at Western Kentucky, right? What a waste. What I like about him is he's tuned into the whole game, not just the game when he has the ball. He was probably a great supporting player for you guys when he should have been a star. Did you think he would translate to the pros like this having watched him? And what did other fans think of his being a role player on your team?
