If picking Donovan over Rudy was a choice at the dollar store, you'd always come up a quarter short with Donovan. If picking Rudy over Donovan was a playoff series, we would get swept every time.

You're going to sit there and deny that Donovan was our best player and pretty much only hope in the playoffs the last two postseasons? The joke
Your head
I got a dig bick.Ahh, I read it wrong.
Yeah, but remember, Rudy is the problem!Tom Haberstroh had an interesting stat during an interview with Spence Checketts today...during the 1-6 stretch over the last 7 games, The Jazz's net rating with Rudy and Donovan on the court together is -13.5 per 100 possessions. With Rudy on and Donovan off, the net rating is +17.6.
Wait did you really not get it this bad? My bad. You're going to sit there and deny that Donovan was our best player and pretty much only hope in the playoffs the last two postseasons?
Don has had an awful 2 month stretch, but let's not forget the facts around here. We still have a lot to play for and he's our best player when it has mattered the most the last two postseasons.

Your role model. I wonder what he touched in the locker room. He did something. We know that.

I can't explain the vote. It's beyond explanation for me. Maybe it's because I don't live in the area and Rudy is some Mother Theresa in the Salt Lake Community. Or maybe it's because we have a bunch of moron fans who create or follow drama more than watch playoff games.Wait did you really not get it this bad? My bad.
The vote tallies are objectively overwhelmingly in favor of Gobert at the moment. I tried to draw an analogy between that contest and how the Jazz have been blowing contests where they had huge leads. I’m not saying it was funny.
Or did you totally get it and you’re just barking?
Please describe how you would "scheme" Rudy out of a game defensively, where he would be replaced by some other player on our team (or in the entire league) with better defensive results.- Title contenders aren't built around incredible rim protectors who are offensively limited centers who can be schemed out of the game even on the defensive end too.
Title contending teams have the ability to switch on everything. We really can't do that with Rudy and our current personnel. We also need the ability to "go small" some towards the end of games. We insist on playing Rudy even when teams go really small, and we have to, because we lack good defenders. Please describe how you would "scheme" Rudy out of a game defensively, where he would be replaced by some other player on our team (or in the entire league) with better defensive results.
Gobert can't switch, or the other personnel can't switch? How does taking Gobert out of the game improve on this for us?Title contending teams have the ability to switch on everything. We really can't do that with Rudy and our current personnel.
So, the problem is not that they are scheming Gobert out of the game, but that regardless of whether Gobert is in the game, the other players are not sufficient. We also need the ability to "go small" some towards the end of games. We insist on playing Rudy even when teams go really small, and we have to, because we lack good defenders.
Which would also be true without Rudy.We could win a title with Rudy, but we would need 3-4 really good perimeter defenders.
Unless you have 5 lockdown defenders, you can always switch off a good offensive player to a bad defender. We need a couple guys who are "lock down" defenders regardless. Those guys are more valuable come playoff time than a rim protector.
Sounds like your are sick of both, which is an option.I haven't voted, because I don't agree with any of the options. Both Gobert and Mitchell need to put their stuff aside. Each should be trying to be the better person here, and I haven't seen any indication that either has made a sustained effort to do so. This is why youth is wasted on the young.
You say truths but you listed a bunch of opinions.I can't explain the vote. It's beyond explanation for me. Maybe it's because I don't live in the area and Rudy is some Mother Theresa in the Salt Lake Community. Or maybe it's because we have a bunch of moron fans who create or follow drama more than watch playoff games.
These are truths regardless of how you voted:
- Rudy is an amazing player, but he isn't going to lead us anywhere.
- Title contenders aren't built around incredible rim protectors who are offensively limited centers who can be schemed out of the game even on the defensive end too.
- Rudy is just as much to blame for the drama within the team as anybody else. Time and time again he has gone and whined to the media about his teammates, his touches, etc.
You guys just want somebody to blame and you're afraid to admit it's everybody including Rudy Gobert.
Do you really think Rudy is the limiting factor to our defense? Have you never watched any Jazz games? The reason the Jazz don't switch is not because Rudy can't guard a switch. He's keeping guards to shooting in the low 40s on switches. Do you know who can't guard perimeter players on the Jazz? EVERY OTHER PLAYER! This is why we don't switch. Because it makes Rudy easier to scheme out of helping our weak *** perimeter defenders. Rudy is very possibly our best perimeter defender in addition to being our best paint defender. The reason the Jazz don't want him switching is not because he can't handle himself on a switch - it's because it takes him away from what he's best at and because EVERY OTHER player can't handle guarding any actions on ball.Title contending teams have the ability to switch on everything. We really can't do that with Rudy and our current personnel. We also need the ability to "go small" some towards the end of games. We insist on playing Rudy even when teams go really small, and we have to, because we lack good defenders.
Our FO did not do a good job getting us enough defenders. We have been saying that for quite some time.

God I hate this response
Lmao, his first reaction is so telling.Again no accountability and responsibility taken. He pretty much is saying - what I'm doing is good enough so deal with it...
