What do you guys think about this, if we get bounced early in the playoffs?

Need more than that… the OKC package had that plus SGA. So it’s at least the picks plus Grimes, Toppin, Quickley, Reddish… they have to give us 20 dimes to make a dollar.

Don just has to overcome his scouting report. Other teams are using it against him. What can he do? I don't know but I am sure he can figure it out. He's intelligent. Maybe it is the ball dominance. Ask his teammates to do touch passes. So he can move without the ball and do more catch and shoot at the rim.

Quin likes players to shoot through "slumps". Clarkson had to finally adjust for more easy baskets before his slump ended.

Don needs to stop forcing things, problem is, in the clutch, Quin's offense isn't as effective as teams clamp down. That doesn't mean they should't try to get shots created through the offense.

Don is part of the problem for sure, but many good teams have good flowing offense, that utilize the entire court to get good shots (Quin's offense over emphasizes the 3 (to the point they take way too many low percentage, closely guarded 3s) at the expense of best percentage shots. Teams simply destroy us by operating for wide open ft range shots.

The Jazz also struggle to start games for the same reason, the offense does not create enough easy opportunities. As has been seen time and time again, players need to see the ball go in the hoop, and easy baskets get players rolling.

I would play DM in the 4th, but require him to run the offense until the shot clock gets low then let him go at it. They used to do that and it worked ok.

I can't fully blame any players, as the captain of the ship is the one steering into the rocks over and over. Quin has to go.

It would also be great to run more off ball rub screens with screener cuts to free Don like what GS does. Working so much on ball is too easy to defend. I seriously am befuddled that the Jazz don't see this.

Donovan is such a dunce. Dude acts like made good decisions, just didn't make shots

So sick of his garbage. It's clear dudes like Ingles and Rubio checked Donovan and made him smarter. Conley needs to grow a backbone and start doing the same.
Guys generally have to make tough or bad shots in the past couple minutes… it’s the offense turning into the last 2 minute offense with 9 minutes to go that is the real issue.

Part of it is Quin too… last night when I’m watching I see no motion… 3 meaningless passes up to and then Don has it with like 6 seconds to go and hasn’t even gotten a switch. It’s like our end of game ATO stuff… it doesn’t seem to have a purpose and results in the worst possible shot. A good chunk is on Donovan for sure … but there are times I’m like WTF are we doing. When they went with Bogey post ups in the other game is was a welcome senses of direction… at least you could see what they were trying to do… it was a basic ****ing post up… like the most basic thing you can run. I’m just not sure there is a plan… and if there is one it looks a lot like when I was coaching my son’s sixth grade team and tried to run something… a lot of running around but none of it coordinated.

It starts with Don. Teammates are being way too passive for sure, but Don needs to use his aggressiveness to get the team going.

I’m a little disappointed in Mikes brand of leadership as well. He might be reading the room and seeing how well it goes over when Rudy speaks up… but it’d be nice if he saw this shot early and said “nope let me get this thing going”. He doesn’t quite have the creation/blow by speed anymore so it’s hard.

This squad has shown us who they are… if any of us think they are something more we fooling ourselves… when someone shows you who they are believe them.

Gobert shoots 71% from the FT line in the clutch on 1.4 attempts per game

Mitchell shoots 62% on .6 per game.

****ing pathetic from Mitchell in both % and attempts. You have the ball the entire time dude, draw a foul.

Also Mitchell shooting 19% from 3. I have ZERO doubts Gobert would do that well if just ran pick n pop 3's for him during the clutch.

He does nothing wrong, just ask him postgame. There’s nothing he’d do differently.

Spida has 3.4 million followers on Instagram. That's an insane amount. We will never have a player as popular as Donovan on this team again. Frankly, it is not the playoffs yet so I don't care too strongly about these numbers. Just turn it around in the playoffs and nobody will care.
