I'm an equal opportunity offender.

But how can we grade what the Jazz have done as anything but incredible.
Look what the Lakers have done. The Mavs. It's a straight F for both.

Given the situation, Jazz killed it. Period.

I recognize most agree. Just amazing we have to defend the moves to ANYONE here.

COME OUT OF THE WOODWORK IN AGREEMENT!!!

After seeing how the draft turned out and how free agency has been how can you not love coming away with George Hill for #12 and Joe Johnson for 2-years 22 mil?

Funny. Watch stupid media tell a story how the west pilfered the east. In reality, the west went completely tard.

I just posted in the Joe Johnson thread that I am really liking what the Jazz are doing this off-season. Picking up Hill for a pick in a consensus bad draft and then getting a player of Johnson's caliber as a solid bench guy is nothing short of spectacular. Granted he's older but we don't need him to be his old all-star level player, we just need him to be solid and help the Jazz turn the corner on closing games out.

This off-season is an absolute win so far and to argue otherwise is to just complain for the sake of complaining.

George Hill deal A-
Joe Johnson deal A-

If Hill signs an extension it becomes an A+

Overall it's one of the best Jazz offseasons I've ever seen.

D Lindsay take a bow

Can someone clue me in to why Dr. PKM is so sensitive? Is it just a role he plays here on the board or do those folks that know him in real life see him act the same way?

unless you are in an intentional rebuild, the purpose of the off-season is to get better. on paper, they did exactly that and it is beyond dispute.

Find a room to cry. You follow me around like a butch. And offer nothing.
Little dik syndrome.. Sure... But cmon man.

He's accidentally been using his wife's estrogen cream as sunblock.

Well here are my view points on the off season

First the draft
- We trade the #12 pick for George Hill. Most people loved this deal. Which I can understand because Hill is a really good guard. From my view point we didn't receive adequate value though (at least based on the details we know). Especially considering we could have signed a guard in FA (albiet not quite as good as Hill and for a little bit more money) while keeping our pick. I thought the best course of action was to move the pick for a future pick or picks (another one in 2017 would have been nice) and then just sign a guard.

- We trade #42 pick for #55 and cash. We select a point guard who will almost certainly never play for us. I'm not sure why he didn't just move out all together? Just trade the pick for a future pick down the road.

- We draft another guard who will almost certainly never play for us at #60. Again I don't understand why we wouldn't just move that pick for a pick in the future.

- Bolomboy was a good get.

Free Agency

- I love the JJ pick up. Exactly what we needed imo.

We'll see what happens from here. I think we will still have a trade or two coming, and we still need a backup Center. As a whole I can't give this off season an A though in good conscience. Maybe I'm just a tough grader though.

My question stands.

If you want an answer, don't insult the person you're asking.

Just tell me, please, how these great moves are going to play out on the court during the run up to next years' postseason. Are we going to make a 4 seed? A three, and even a first round win? Are the games going to be the best thing to do in town on a cold winter night?

Is Laker Town going to dread Utah coming in?

I think both moves were good.

Lindsey is playing strategic chess. Some teams are going to be choking on huge contracts with mediocre players in 3-4 years. Some front offices cannot see past this season because they fear for their jobs unless they win now. DL and QS have the confidence of ownership so they can play the long game.

Seems like the most excitement since the Big Al Raja win while rebuilding idea. We certainly look a lot better off than many teams. I'm excited to see the playoffs back in town. Quinn just might get the guys believing in themselves and surprise some people.

I don't know if it's possible, but it would be epic if DL could turn some of our dead weight into assets. With the added depth, there's a couple players that won't see the light of day.

Regardless, it's been a pretty sweet offseason so far!
