You've probably already given your thoughts on the pick in other threads, but I can't find that ish. So give me (us) your impressions. What do you think of the guy? How does he fit? all that crap.


Much more importantly, regarding a certain text you got in the middle of the draft last night. I thought we were bros, bro? What'd that ish say? Bless us with your knowledge.
 
Yeah PKM. Just lay it all out there. I value your opinion slightly less than Locke's but slightly more than Jalen Rose's opinion. Elucidate on the value and Fit of this one surnamed Lyles.
 
Good at everything not elite at anything.
Much better shooter than what he's getting credit for.
Smart player.
Great size with his skilset.
Closer to a 3 than a 5, but a pure 4. He will see time at 3 but I don't see it at the 5 (as some have suggested).
Great kid/teammate. Highly coachable.

I don't love the pick but I also wouldn't necessarily trade him for anyone else that was on the board.
It will take him a year or two to provide any meaningful contribution but his ceiling is higher than you guys are thinking.
Bigger than 6'10, wide frame, and a complete set of skills.

I would always draft BPA, but playing along I would still take Trey.
Although we already have TBooker, I would take the guy with the higher ceiling and I think that's Trey.

I am the first (that I'm aware) to make the Booker/Klay comp and I think that's pretty reasonable. However, Devin started last season in a slump and ended in a slump. When he slumps he brings nothing else to the game. His defense is below average and he doesn't pass or board particularly well. That concerns me.

Do you think he can guard 4s? He looks really soft to me... he lets people bully him inside from what I've seen? Or is that selective memory on my part?

Yes. Just keep in mind he's 19. He will have the tools, he needs to add some strength.
