Players I don't want on this team next season

Favors, Hill and Hood need four months off. All have talent, but ran on fumes this season.

Hood missed 32 games this year. Unless he's struggling with a chronic injury right not that we don't know about, he shouldn't be gassed. He's just a very inconsistent player.

I like all our players.

Having said that I think Burks, Favors, Mack, Neto, Diaw, Withey and Hill all have reasonable to good chances to not be here next season.

Push for Hayward, hard. Re-sign Ingles. Then go after CP3. Use draft and trades to fill the holes.

Gobert/??
?/Lyles/Bolomboy
Hayward/JJ
Hood/Ingles
CP3/Exum

There are two first rounders.

A "Big 3" of Gobert, Hayward and CP3 would be huge. Especially with JJ, Hood, Exum and Ingles as supporting players. Need to fill in starting PF. If not CP3, Hill would still be great.

Any ideas?

Jazz w/ CP3 would elevate the Jazz to the 2nd best team in the NBA instantly, probably a 60-65 win team. Highly unlikely to happen, but it's nice to dream...

Bogut x20. Then trade Lyles to Miami in exchange for them actually releasing Bosh. Then sign him.

Burks for sure needs to go.

Neto needs to be upgraded.

Law needs to be laid down on Lyles and Exum. They need to hit the gym hard this summer.

Hood isn't injured.

He's a steak shooter who doesn't have the aggressiveness or ballhandling to consistently get to the rim. He's basically a left handed JR smith. Or CJ Miles. He's always been this way. I don't know why people keep talking about his injury.

Hood should be a back-up wing. It's fine to give him another year to improve, but he shouldn't be relied upon too much.

Probably but the Jazz are at that point. If Hayward re-signs he and Gobert are a very attractive combo to entice a star like CP3. They change the equation.

Jazz need to go big or go home this off season.

Wayne Ellington seems like a good wing for Quin's system. What would it take to poach him from Miami?

No offense, but couldn't la have the same mentality? We are one Hayward/Butler/George away from competing? So keep DJ and Paul and poach Hayward. Right?

Had we drafted Devin Booker and he was in the lineup tonight, we might have just won that game.

Exactly

I'm worried that we've doomed our rebuild by whiffing on too many draft picks. Burke, kanter, Burks, Exum, and Lyles.

If we had drafted Booker and if Exum could just give us patty mills production we'd be giving golden state a real run.

Livington? No
Deron is awful. Has anyone seen him play in the last 3 years? He's worse then Mack. Not joking.
Terence jones? Meh

The problem in keeping Hill is our future cap. People realize losing Hill without a replacement is a step back. But long-term it may be the better cap move. Destroying our cap flexibility to keep Hill kills any chance we may have of winning a championship.

What cap flexibility? Exum, Hood, Favors all up for new deals after next year. Gobert and Hayward will take up half the cap between those 2 players alone. Utah could make a run at a good FA next year, but after that there isn't going to be any significant cap room.

Hill is a really good 2-way PG. Those guys don't grow on trees. Fans can dream of signing CP3 all they want, but when you start passing up really good players because you think you can go after great ones, it seldom works out.

Utah had by far the best offseason last year after GS, and the players we scored on were Hill, Johnson and to a lesser degree, Diaw. So now Hill isn't good enough for us because we want to count on successful FA acquisitions from now on?

Some of you guys need a reality check.

Had we drafted Devin Booker and he was in the lineup tonight, we might have just won that game.

More like Klay would have gone for 40 and we would have stood no chance. Booker like all inefficient offensive players and horrible defensive players would not get many minutes on a play off team.

Here is the important thing to keep in mind...

If we go forward with people like Ingles, Mack, and Diaw in the same rolls, expect the same result.

I'm not satisfied with where are at. If we want to stand pat, and be a 4/5 seed with a early exit every year we'll turn into the Clippers.

So now we must take a hard look at the roster top to bottom, and keep the players who will help us continue to progress. Stagnation is regression.
