Playoff Game 6: Jazz vs Clippers 4/28/17 8:30 PM, ROOT, ESPN

We've learned a lot about our players.
We have a lot of good players but we need an upgrade somewhere if we want to continue to advance next year.

Part of it does have to do with health, but get past that and we need to address the weak spots.
I don't think we need an upgrade, but some players have to make the next step. Upgrading the emergency 11-15 may be in order, but dudes like Hood/Favors/Exum just have to decide they want to take the next step or not. Luckily all 3 of those dudes will be in a contract year next year so they will have plenty of motivation.

I don't blame the refs, but they played a part. Certainly the Jazz lost it by missing shots and what not, but the team is at an inherit disadvantage when their center is allowed to push on every screen and their PG can draw shooting fouls 40 feet from the rim because nba Reffing has gone full retard.

This... both of the calls he got on those there was no extended arm or contact. It is embarrassing to the NBA... I saw a guy try to do that in rec league and the refs laughed at his ***... I mean even those jokers nknownthat ain't basketball.

Over some of the minutes Hood, Jingles and Neto are getting be might be. There is no valid argument why he cant get 5 minutes at home when people are playing that poorly.

I'd ride Hood and Ingles no matter what over Exum. The Exum vs Neto debate is a gamble one way or the other as both of them are unreliable and have been all year.

We looked like we were playing not to lose, instead of playing to win. There was a lot of open looks where guys were tentative and when they did shoot looked scared. Growing pains, that is what happens when you're out of the post season for so long.

But he didn't and we used the entire clock so couldn't foul and run another play... isn't it obvious??

Don't you remember that stupid question the reporter asked Doc and CP3 after game 1? Well we just did the dumb **** he was talking about.

Well, let me remind you what happened. Doc was upset because the reporter was too dumb to suggest that CP3 needed to hold the ball for a buzzer-beater to tie it. Doc response was you take the shot and then defend.

Joe situation was different. He dribbled the ball to create some space and get to his spot on the left side above the arc. With Jordan on the perimeter there was a chance for a rebound but the Jazz could not secure it. It was a good shot. Could he shot it a 1 or 2 sec earlier? Maybe.

More importantly, we did not lose the game in that last play. Why are you killing yourself over it? So many things went wrong today and the last play wasn't the most important one

Like, I get it coming around a screen at 25, but calling a shooting foul that far out? Its a joke.

If Favs show up in the first half it doesn't matter but that second half up until the last couple minutes was a free for all for the Clippers. Blatant fouls. It has been that way the last couple games. It will happen again in game 7. The Jazz have to rise above it.

Why are we in a close game at all?

If the jazz are in a close game with the clippers I'll take the clippers. They have the best player between the two teams. Tonight was a game that we needed to dominate. You don't fool around with teams in close out situations. The clips did what they needed: weather the storm, keep it close, take the crowd out of the game, and let their star take over.

Stop blaming the refs.

We got outplayed, out hustled, and out worked on both ends. Clips played great defense, and when we did get open looks we missed too many of them.

Doc layed into his team after a 6 point swing in the beginning of the second QT. They responded.

As I said in the first part of the this thread this game would come down to offense. In these tight close out games your offense can leave you.
I feared our 3 pt shooting would go cold, and it did. No one really stepped up, and the Clips forced us into a lot of tough bad shots.

Every game has been close and the series is 3-3

Favors and Burks are gone. We need their salary allocations elsewhere.

Favs isn't healthy but speights outplayed him pretty hard tonight and that can't happen.

I really don't not think game 7 is out of the question. That was our 'young team can't close a team out' messy game. Now we're ready, still the better team, never looked right tonight.

Would be way more Clippers worthy too, to lose in 7 on the home floor.

Yeah, I feared the same as far as shooting is concerned. We haven't had any amazing shooting games, but we have been regularly outdoing our season averages from behind the arc. Today was a sharp regression to the mean.

The guy has to have his arm extended and he didn't on either of those. If you are going to call that you also have to call the moving screen. It's just such BS.

Yeah, the game was still close. I'm still confident the Jazz win (as long as Gobert can play w/ decent mobility).

So what's his deal? Lack of coaching? Lack of maturity? Basketball iq? Work ethic? Getting zero from our draft picks over the past few years is killing us. We shouldn't have to rely on a 40 year old Boris or some kid from Brazil when we had two lottery picks.

Time and a healthy offseason would help.
