What's new

Playoffs have sucked

Mark Jackson is doing some great coaching... one timeout left with 8 minutes in the fourth? Idiot. Maybe that is why the spurs have come from behind yet again.

Well, he has been cooling off Spurs runs with TO's and having to get Bogut out of the game. I actually think Jackson did a pretty good job keeping the Spurs run in check and not letting his team completely collapse. The consequence is not having many TO's left, but I think it was worth it to make sure they didn't repeat their mistakes from game 1.

Yeah, and really how much can be done against pop? It is impressive he still has a lead. I tuned in when they were up 20

You could definitely criticize Jackson for being overcautious, but it was understandable because of Game 1.

LOL.. where is KOC? Where is Ty Corbin?

GSW are playing the young early and often, and they're winning doing it.

Lol. Warriors >>> Jazz

Their FO recognized that the future was more important than a 4 game sweep against the Spurs/Thunder.

Their FO has a clear vision. They have an uptempo and fun style. What the hell are we trying to be?

Their coach knows what he is doing. Coaching 101 taught by Mark Jackson began a few weeks ago. Ty is still welcome to come and learn. I don't see Mark just going on and on and on about how much he loves his guys without any substance, adjustments, strategy, etc. if Ty Corbin had been coaching tonight he would have taken out Klay Thompson after his 2nd or 3rd three pointer in order to maintain the rotation. No way he would have left him in and rode the hot hand. Also, Barnes would have been benched after his first turnover. Can't have rookies make mistakes. Richard Jefferson would be playing 30+ mins.

Remember how a few week ago all the talking heads were talking about how this is the era of point guards? Well... Sorta...

Big Z and Gasol powered Memphis over LA.
OKC. Is still winning without westbrook.
Miami is cruising for another year without a PG.
Boston's best win came without any PG (game 5).
Who is indiana's point guard? Yet everyone knows David west and hibbert. Oh and Paul George.
Denver had 2 great PGs and went down.
Steph Curry has been so exciting to watch play. He's probably the best PG still playing. Yet, even he isn't playing PG. jack is. Almost equally exciting has been Bogut. After 2 years of injury he has finally come back and returned as one of the league's top centers.

So I am not sure if Your best player needs to be a PG. I think having good solid bigs and/or a dominate wing (king, George, KD, Melo, pierce, etc) is the best way to go. We already have great bigs. Hopefully unchaining Hayward this next year will help.

Or...we play the young guns next year, suck and get Jabari or Wiggins as our stud wing? ;)

I think now with Lindsey there is at least that possibility. KOC is just so old school he'd never let that happen. I took comfort from Lindsey's interview that the door is at least open.

BTW

If Burks was on the GSW? He'd be scoring 20 ppg.

seeing Damian Lillard on inside the NBA tonight makes me sad we were not able to draft him. We would have one heckuva team with him right now.

Real question- is this San Antonio team better or worse this year? Worse, right?

I would say the same. They are just running into a team in the playoffs that can expose them, again. They are a regular season team.

Hmmm alright, if you say so. Makes me feel that much worse about the Jazz.

Fact- All 4 series right now are tied 1-1.

Be patient.. Schroeder will be WAY better. A true, quick PG who likes to distribute and play defense.

....well, if the Warriors keep shooting from the outside like they've been doing, the Spurs are in trouble. Plus, the Spurs outside shooting has gone south as well. The Warriors will also get some home cookin the next two games so this aint gonna be no walk in the park like I thought it would be.

Way better? That is a reach at best. Lillard is great. If Schroeder is 3/4 the player he is he will be a good point guard. If Schroeder was really going to be way better than lillard, he would be the number one pick hands down.

Biggest difference is they have Curry and the Jazz have Mo/Tinsley/Watson handling the ball most the time. He is why the Warriors were 4 games better this year than the Jazz and beat a depleted/injured Denver team.
