Playoffs VS Trey Burke

This is exactly what I've been saying for the longest time.

- Orlando is likely to get top 3 pick and will get one of Noel, McClemore or Bazz.
- Kings - not sure if they're 100% sold on Isiah. They also picked Jimmer when they already had Tyreke.
- Dallas - if they can get Burke for cheap - why overpay Collison?

That's why my thinking was, if we make the playoffs over Dallas, there's less chance on getting Burke. If we can at least stay ahead of Dallas, we've got a better chance at Burke.

You have to think Detroit gives Burke some consideration as well to feed Drummond for the next decade. Calderon is a UFA and old, Knight is clearly a SG (if anything at all).

Yeah but they're also "stuck" with Stuckey (pun intended).

Also they're in need of a young wing player IMO and Porter & Oladipo will be in their range.

No one is passing on a stud young PG because of Grieves Vasquez also, so throw NO in the draft PG pile.

Yeah but if you look at the list - Orlando will likely pass on Smart.

So if you're right - NO picks Smart.

If Sacramento picks Oladipo/Porter instead, then Burke would fall to Portland/Dallas. Which is the main topic of this thread - if we "slow tank" (i.e., decided to miss the playoffs) it's possible to fall below Portland/Dallas, thereby picking up Burke.

*face palm*

Do people just take everything from face value? Whatever happened to not judging the book by its cover?!?!

I dunno, I always thought that that saying was a little too black and white.

Like if a book is titled "Why you should hate all blacks, Muslims, and Jews" then there's a really good chance that it's a racist book and that you should probably stay away from it. Right?

Anyways, the point here is- Don't be a racist.

That's why I've never called you on it, but damn it's hard to see past it. I mean haven't you ever just looked at it and thought yikes! Why do you think you get accused of being racist so much? lol

Yeah that's OK if the title is crystal clear. But if it's ambiguous then it's another story.

Like if my name was "I_hate_black_people" - or simply "KKK", then OK I'm asking for it.

But Hotttnickkk? I mean, c'mon, really??

Geez. You constantly take the best shots from the likes of PKM, Cy, and UGLI, and give it back, then get all weepy with little old me. Dang all of a sudden I feel like I should apologize now.

I know many smart posters here have the motto of "Bring it and don't Suck" or simply "Don't post stupid stuff".

But what I say to that is "who cares?". As long as the posts are not offensive to anyone. I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, I'll be the first to admit that and this is what I believe:

- If a poster is trying hard to make a point but still "suck", I'd just read it and move on. May be give him a few pointers, but I'd do it politely.

- If a poster is so passionate about a subject and he starts 5 threads about something (i.e., Trey Burke), I'd say good on him! Keep them coming! (as long as they're not duplicate threads of course).

- If a poster is pouring his/her heart out of a topic - I'd listen and try to be sensitive/keep sarcasm to a minimum.

I think at the end of the day it's recognizing that there are people who come to this forum from all walks of life and we're all passionate about supporting the Jazz. Although it may not seem like it, we're all "human" in real life as well who have feelings, etc.

I don't know.. just my 2 cents.

You have to admit it would be fun to make it to the playoff's even if all we get to see is Pop get mad and kick a few chairs and the Jazz bow out way to early ... I really don't think it matters a ton if we make it or not other then its FUN ... I do hope the Jazz management will see the big picture ... of not just being a good and respectable team ... but lets figure a way to get the big PRIZE
