What's new

Playstation Network Down

Regarding the Netflix thing... about a week ago I was still able to use it. It would ask me to sign into PSN two or three times, would fail each time, but then let me watch stuff anyway. But for the last week, when I get to the stage of actually picking what I want to watch, I hit "play" on a movie or show, then it asks me to sign in again, fails, and tells me I need to be signed in to watch. Weird. And annoying.

When will the store return? End of the month?
That's their plan. But they also said they'd have the gaming features back over a week ago, so who really knows?

At least I'm able to get online now. I downloaded the update yesterday and was able to sign in this morning.

Wow, umm... so nothing I care about.

I like inFamous, and Little Big Planet is okay... but I own both of them already. Not interested in the other games.

Movie rentals? Music service? Pass. All of that stuff sounds more like the "free trials" of services that plague us from countless other quarters, anyway. Just a way to hook you in and then forget to cancel the stupid thing.

I hear they'll be offering free identity theft insurance. Just give me that and leave me alone, Sony... your "welcome back" makes me sad.

Update on games offered by Sony for the interruption.

2 free games isn't horrible, but I suspect there are quite a few people like you who have a)played and are done with all those games or b) not interested in any of the vast selection of 5 games. For that I must say weak Sony. Why not just offer 25 bucks worth of whatever you want from PSN store. Aren't those games like 10 bucks each to download?
