Please ask for a trade, Dante

I don't want to give up another first round pick just to get rid of Dante. Thinking he has any trade value at this point is ridiculous.

And you want to add picks onto that? Aminu is a rotation player who was a starter for years. Exum is a non-rotation player who is perma injured. There's just no way ORL sees that as equal value.
I think you attach a second rounder and it’s a decent deal of Orlando wants to roll the dice. They’re already doing that with Fultz, though. But they’re not going anywhere. Them holding on to Aminu on his deal is pointless.

To dump salary.

Aminu is playing 20 MPG for them. Exum is not getting time over Fultz, Augstine, or Ross. Maybe he's getting minutes over Iwundu as a wing...but there's is easily a much more defined role for Aminu as a backup 4 on a team that is trying to make the playoffs. If they get rid of Aminu, they need someone to fill his spot. Exum is not filling any need for them.

Aminu has one year on what is a fair contract...and he's playing unlike Exum. You can think Exum is going to be a superstar in the future, but you're really lying to yourself if you think his contract isn't a big negative right now.

I don’t think that. And I thought Aminu signed a four year deal.

Aminu has two more years left after this one at $10M a piece. For being a team whose ceiling is squeezing into the playoffs in the east, Aminu is a pretty pointless guy to have in the roster at that salary. Of course, another team could be interested in him, but I don’t know who that is or what they’d give.

If I were DL, I’d be calling across the league offering up Exum, second round picks, and BJs, for any of Marcus Morris, Aminu, Portis, JaMychal Green, Jae Crowder, Aron Baynes, or Draymond Green.

I love how both Jazzfanz and Jazz fans in general overreact when it comes to Exum.

Yes, he has *some* trade value. Not a lot, but the idea that you would have to give up a first just to dump him is overreacting. His contract is not THAT bad. His value on the court to teams is as a wing defender with upside offensively.

The issue is that the pool of teams who would be willing to trade for him is small. Interest would likely come from young rebuilding teams whose best players are currently on rookie deals. Because teams in that situation aren't going to be as concerned with Exum's salary. By the time that money being free is important to them his contract will be expiring. That pool of teams gets even smaller when you factor in that the Jazz would only consider a move that makes them better now.
