What's new

Please fire Snyder and get a real coach in the summer

correct, he should have actually faded away properly or leant in to draw contact. I was surprised and how lame a shot it was

My friend went up like that in a rec league game and was swatted by a girl ( she was big and he was avoiding contact) but bad things happen when you go soft. He will never live it down.

If he pump fakes he gets free throws... If he lowers his shoulder then shoots he gets a clean look.

Quin isn't perfect but he's done a good job and both of those looks/setups were fine.

But he hasn't done a good job. He hasn't even done an average job. We're underperforming. It's been almost two years and he still can't draw up plays for us to inbound quickly and smoothly. We still don't have a proper, reliable offense. Players still stand around and throw up jumpers for a good chunk of the game. He's still messing up rotations and we're still unable to hold leads or put teams away.

I don't think I need to talk about late-game situations at all, except to point out that for all the talk of how the Jazz are getting robbed down the stretch, Snyder has incurred a grand total of zero techs this year. That's right, ZERO. Now, if your team is not getting calls and you're not complaining about it, it stands to reason that you will continue to not get calls. It may be a small thing, but it really shows how in over his head he really is.

Is Stevens a good coach?

No idea, have not seen much of Boston the last couple of years as they've been pretty bad and I tend to only watch non-Jazz games that involve contenders. On the strength of tonight's game, I will say he seems to know how to draw up plays.

This is dumb... Underperforming? No Exum, favs, Gobert, and burks have all missed time. He just recently got a competent pg... He has offensively challenged players.

I seem to remember a play he drew up in Dallas that worked pretty well. I agree we are getting screwed and his lack of technicals shows he's not working the refs but maybe he doesn't want to cut that check. What is his salary? Stevens has exactly zero technicals.

He has helped his developing players and we have like the youngest team in the league. This is over reaction theater.

They've been good the last two years and he's a good coach. He has more players more experienced players and zero technicals.

If you haven't been watching other teams much take a look around first before you fire an up and coming coach... Bet the Kings wish they had Malone back.

Stupid thread.

Does that alone make him a good coach? No.
Does it invalidate the claim that his drawn up plays suck? Yes.

Also worth noting that the Jazz are 15th in points per possession. Had they been one of the top teams, that graph would've meant little.

Given what he has to work with, the injuries etc., I think Snyder has proven himself so far. Needs to work on drawing up plays out of timeouts in the clutch, needs to sit Booker for Lyles.

Burke and Booker should have been traded at the deadline. That's on DL. Can't get anything of value for either of them by the end of the year and it's better to give their minutes to Mack and Lyles. These past few games have sucked, but I'm not ready to write the team off yet. They got back into the mix with a 7 game win streak. After the finish from last season, I wouldn't put it past them. Can't wait to get Burks and Exum back healthy.

One of the best in the league, imo. I think I'd only put Pop, Kerr, Carlisle above him right now.

Agreed. He's a great coach. I wanted the Jazz to fire Corbin and hire him in 2013. Was SO pissed when the Celtics grabbed him after trading Doc. I've been happy with Snyder. Better than I expected, but Stevens is the guy I wanted. He's going to be known as a great coach if he can get some more talent on that team.

I agree he's good... Was trying to bait him because he was railing that Snyder has no techs... Stevens doesn't have any either.

Stevens' team isn't getting robbed, though. That was my point. You gotta play the refs and the league, a little bit. Especially in this new era of NBA actually publishing analyses of calls. There's a difference between complaining about calls in the olden days and now. Now you can actually point to the league itself admitting calls were wrong.

I agree.

Snyder is clearly the problem.

If we fire Snyder and hire Corbin Neto will be better than Steph curry and Magic Johnson and Stockton combined.

Wow. Lessjim is full blown moron.

How would you idiots feel if the jazz had won like 4 more games right now? Totally different, right? That's pretty much within the margin of error for this team. They aren't really under performing. They are over injuring. If anything, they need to fire the training staff and replace them.
