Point Guard Situation and Trading Al for a PG

Nerd, I think you are exaggerating about Tinsley a bit. He wasn't that bad. And he did get better as he got some time. He really wasn't in shape at first. Yes, I agree he's lost a couple of steps, but I wager he will come back quicker this year because he will be in a lot better shape.

i'm not exaggerating. go find a game highlight from march or april... any game, really. the guy just couldn't move, all year long.

I'll fully support the notion that Tinsley may have been the worst PG in the league in terms of individual defense. He had the smarts to guess and redirect but laterally just couldn't really move his feet and once you got a half-step on him it was over.

It comes down to a tough juggling act if the precision in which he is able to run our offense as well as improvise and create shots for his teammates outweights his defense - and then if that difference outweighs Watson's - whose strengths&weaknesses are practically the complete opposite of Tinsley. Moving forward though I think Utah can survive quite well with Tinsley and Watson backing up Williams. As with most things, team-defense can cover up alot of individual weaknesses and more Favors (and even Kanter who played underrated screenroll defense) and less (or no) Big Al can help cover for Tinsley.

Hayward, Burks and Kanter did not show anything yet which would make them 10mil/year player. No freaking way.
But you see, they have to be, otherwise our new 'core' sucks and we'll be lottery bound anyway. I am going on the assumption that the things that people say about these players will come true. It it doesn't than it's back to the drawing board and we draft new players for a new core and a new discussion.

Remember, Barkley thinks that Hayward will be an all star, and all star means at least ten mil. Sure, Barkley likes to stretch, but it is a supporting opinion.

Barkley was the only one betting on Utah to beat Lakers in playoffs few years ago. He still thinks he was better PF then Malone. I think he is full of sh...

They can be good, reliable players but not 10mil/year players anyway. I honestly do not see Hayward having better career then Harpring and he was not 10mil/player. Kanter may get big cheque just because of his size and rebounding...Burks? To early to tell, need another season to have better idea about him.
