Who are some backup point guards teams are willing to part with and who is on the scrap heap? Obviously DWill and Trey come to mind but are there other intriguing possibilities?

"Other" intriguing possibilities. By that you mean DWill and Trey are intriguing? Not the adjective that comes to mind, tbh. Revolting, disgusting, old, washed-up, has-been and never-was are more accurate. Lindsey probably sees who gets cut by other teams; maybe there's the PG equivalent of Ingles. If not, Jazz roll with who they have. Both Ingles and AB can run the offense. Jazz have Neto and Wolters can be used for 45 days. Signing an additional PG means cutting both Bolomboy and O'Neale. Maybe it comes to that, but I don't think another PG is needed yet.

Is Earl Watson available? Get him out of coaching so he stops telling his players to jnjure ours. Maybe we can bring back JLIII. Surprised no one has suggested Bryce Cotton.

And no, I am not advocating ANY of those. IMO, Jazz should roll with who they have - unless a good option is cut by another team.

actually if you want an option but I am not sure how we woud make the trade but the Lakers will want out of Jordan Clarkson's contract so they can sign PG13 this summer.

Bring back the Stockton kid that played in Germany. He had some decent talent, definitely serviceable as a 3rd PG.

Rubio, Neto, AB, and Ingles is a fine lineup of guys who can initiate our offense and run very different styles from the point.

Rubio: Quick, Elite passer, get into the paint, clinical, doesn't stretch the floor
Neto: Pesky, Solid defender, capable shooter, doesn't require touches on offense, scrappy, starting experience
AB: Crafty, Score first, respectable shooter with an ability to get into the paint at will, learning to pass
Ingles: Methodical, Shooter, crafty Pick & Roll player, lobs, uses body well

Heck, if ya'll want another point guard... I do recall a bunch of you fooligans wanting Gobert to play at the elbow and initiate the offense. Why not give him the ball, eh Naos?

What I think is that Quin was going to have a hard time finding AB minutes with Exum and Mitchell getting most of those minutes off the bench. With the Exum injury, I think that many of his minutes go to Alec and depending on how he does, Neto is going to have competition for the backup point guard spot.

It'll be interested to see who is waived prior to the season. No doubt DL will be viewing the waiver wire.

Not saying we're going to end up signing somebody decent but if we could sign a player who makes half the impact former waiver signing Ingles makes for us we'll be set.

Kendall Marshall got cut again, but I'm not sure he's any better than Neto.
The Jazz already made a scrap-heap move for Nate Wolters.
Our guy Tyrone Wallace might be available.

But the Jazz are already looking at someone whose name I don't remember.

Whatever happened to that European point guard that everyone was talking about in the offseason? I don't remember his name, but before we traded for Rubio there was talk about a PG from Europe, who might come to the NBA and said he liked the Jazz?

Regardless, I think we have very capable wings who can initiate the offense without bringing in someone new. Ingles, Hood and Burks can create for themselves and others. Throw in Mitchell, who I don't think has the offensive savvy to play PG yet, to guard opposing PG's and I think we will be just fine. Rubio and Neto just better stay healthy or things can take a turn real quick.

Probably thinking of Teodosic who has looked good for the Clippers in preseason.

This could be like Kobe and Fisher. Derek was the PG but Kobe the scorer and ball handler while Fisher just stood behind the arc. No reason Mitchell can't be the scorer while Jingles or AB sets up outside. Rather than signing Exum to a big contract, if he and his agent still think there's free money to be had, perhaps DL is better off finding a big SF or combo forward with 3pt range.

yep, he wanted too much money and was not a good defender.
