I'm 33. When younger, I did not have a hand held device with a random GPS overlay linking one of my favorite things(too old for Pokemon, not too old for Ninja Turtles) to walking to different places. My parents were not much support; signing up for a little league wasn't an option(too expensive, time consuming for them, etc).
Did I go out with my friends? Absolutely. Did I run around with them? Sure. Were most of my hours, even those at a friends place, spent hovering over a TV watching or playing Street Fighter II/Mortal Kombat? Emphatically yes. Had I games that got me out into the world more instead of hovering at a screen, would I have had a LOT more exercise? Indeed.
That's not even saying those console games were bad.. had I not been indoors playing those, I might have been outside shooting neighboorhood cats with a BB gun, or playing with fire until I scorched the field next to my house.
This was not meant to be a "I never did anything, had I this I would have done something", statement. Don't take it that far, as it wasn't implied or meant to be that way. Take it as "Yeah, I woulda been outside a lot more had that screen been mobile, and required me go to different locations".
