Poker Game! Friday the 13th 1-13-12 7pm

Holy crap! 20 people showed up.

Everyone from Jazzfanz was awesome, as usual.

Franklin has completely re-established his poker prowess. I think the win was his if he didn't agree to a chop.

Hell, Trout damn near made the money.

Pretty good showing for Jazzfanz.

I scratched my way to 4th. It only took about 20 all-ins.

See you guys next time!

I love your pre-game trash talking, especially considering how bad you suck.

If not for a horrendously bad beat, that little Lakers fan would've been home jerkin his pogo stick to his Kobe posters while I was beating you and Gameface.

What's the over/under on the number of people out before Trout goes out? 0? 1?

Knee grow, please.

I'd be nervous giving an over/under of 2. I'd have to go with 1.

Ask Bronco about it. It was awesome.

And many thanks to Gameface, as always, it was great fun. I'm looking forward to the next one.

Trout would have had about 65% of the chips with 7 left if it weren't for some bad luck. He chopped a flopped straight to a gut shot straight, where he held one in the gut. The highlight of my night was definitely watching his hands shake like a baby when he was counting the chips for that call, even though he had the nuts on a rainbow flop. :) The low light was him eating a healthy chunk of my stack with 10 10 and two lower pairs on the board.

Gameface played the best after the bubble. If he got cards then he would have steamrolled us all. He held a small stack for a long time and even recommended bumping the blinds faster. Props for that. His friend Jason played a pretty good tight stack too.

I hit a ton of hands. It's easy to win when that's happening. Pocket rockets 4 times and chopped a dominated all-in with a board flush. Both rare.

Dammit, I could see it too, and I tried my best to stop it. I really can't think of much worse than losing to that douche bag Lakers fan. After he lucked out and took the majority of my chips on a BS river card, he blurts out, "Yea, bitch!" in a thuggy Mexican/Vato voice while gesturing me. It totally sucked any fun out of the game for me. Ya, I'm a weak sucker, but that **** just pissed me off something fierce. He then took the rest of my chips on two other hands. I'm surprised I stuck around as long as I did.

I would take 10,000 of the crazy Chica over one of those douche bags.

I thought it was over the top rude but don't let it bother you too much. You have to imagine someone who has never been there before, with emotions fully blazing over a 20 dollar big boy game. He completely lost control of himself when that queen hit and wasn't able to control anything. Pants check?? I'm pretty sure he regretted this outburst too.

If it helps any, I lost the exact same pre-flop all-in to him for about 20k.

Was it the same Jazzfanz crowd showing up again, or were there any newbies this time? There is nothing more awkward than poker night with a bunch of guys that have been getting together for awhile. You guys might be approaching that point where all conversation is inside jokes and stuff. The Jazzfanz RSVP list is officially frozen.

There was a good mix. Jazzfanz represented 7 of the 20 players (myself and guests of Jazzfanz members included). All the Jazfanz members this time had been before. I had 3 extended family members who have never played at my house before. I had 4 people from work, of which only one was a return player. I had a childhood friend there, he's played in almost every game I've hosted. My wife's coworker played, she also played in the Vote Ballou game. And to fill the remaning seats I posted a message on the meetup.com Salt Lake Poker Meetup Group messge baord. I haven't played there in some time but was pretty active in the group 3-4 years ago. 4 people came from there, one of whom I've played several times in games both at my place and elsewhere.
