What's new

Poker Tournament, Sat. May 19th @ 4pm

I might aim for a game on the 2nd. Wife's not into it ATM she's starting at a new location that day and will just be getting home as the game is going. If it's not the 2nd I'm not sure I can do anything until the end of June.

I'm thinking of limiting to 10 players and a simple $40 buy-in freeze-out (no rebuy, no add-on).

Yes, it was two guys both names Jeff one spelled with a J the other with a G. They were at a chamber of commerce networking event.

They were both managers one was a plant managers I think. One of them said he was on your poker email list. They said they knew you and fish but didn't talk to either of you much. I think they both worked at the New York facility before this one.

Okay, I wasn't sure who the J guy was but I think I know now. Geoff is the plant manager and he's on the email list, but he's never been to game.

I read that as, "Wife's not into ATM." Was thinking what a shame.

Game next weekend is not going to happen.

Really not sure when I might host a game. Probably not in June. Probably not in July.

June is a kickass month though

So annoyed. I’ve been playing poker on some free app with a bunch of buddies. Cash games. We usually start with 100 chips which equals $10 or $20 depending on the night. Last night we had to start with between 2”” and 400 chips. I started with 400 or $80. Guy who was immediately after me was hammered. Had like 7 shots of Jager and six beers before we even started. And it continued while we played. I was extremely disciplined all night. Started at 9pm and was having a lot of trouble getting hands and when I did even more trouble getting flops. So anyway, I was playing some of maybe the best poker I’ve ever played despite all that and got up to about 1,100 chips—again I started with 400. And then someone rose from 2 to like 22 and I called with J/Q suited since that big of a raise in this game is more like 4x in a regular game AND there were already three other callers. I didn’t feel it was the right call but I had like the second most chips and wanted to see what the flop gave me. Well it came out 2 hearts/8 hearts/9 spades. So I had a million outs. 19 I think. Needed one heart for a flush, a 10 for the straight and a J or Q for the top pair. Everyone checks. I decided to just push all-in. First guy takes a while and finally calls and because he did the next two did as well. First guy won with a pair of 2’s. I never push all-in on draws like that and am so annoyed I thrown away all the patience I’d shown all night nearly six hours later at almost 2:45am. I lost, went on tilt with a couple more all-ins pre-flop over the next five minutes and lost it all. So I lost $80 on the night. I guess it could be worse though. Big Jim, who I’m guessing finished the night somewhere around 15 shots and 20 drinks lost almost $2,500.

I’m so dumb. It was basically free money from Jim. I should’ve just checked and played patiently for another hour and buttraped him.
