Police Shootout on Video

Why in the hell would they blow the propane tanks and endanger who knows how many others?

Like who? People walking their dogs across the street? I'll assume that the police had the area locked down. Now, if the police showed up and started shooting like crazy at propane tanks etc, I'd agree with you. There was obviously a police lock down. I don't think kids are going to be playing around the neighborhood after the deputy was already shot earlier. It looks to me a news camera recorded the standoff. I mean, it's possible there were other people around, but I'm betting the police got people out of the way and off the streets.

Anyways, I agree with you. When I made my post, I was reacting to what I thought I would do or what they could have done. Strictly armature. There's one dude using an assault carbine (wouldn't that be putting other people in danger just as much?) and another dude shooting a pistol at a metal trailer. If they thought other people were inside the trailer, would they use a carbine to penetrate? They both aren't in great cover (probably the reason the officer gets tagged by blind fire.) I was just thinking if they shot the propane tank, maybe it would cause a distraction or startle the shooter so they could get better cover or a better angel. But like I said in my first post, they got the job done so props to them.

I'm glad that the rant-buddy party cares more about personal attacks, knocks, or grammar than commenting on the video.

-Thanks, dudes

Have a great new year and I hope you start the new year off with a great day at work or whatever you do.

Never change Archie. Please.

I see nothing wrong with the video. It doesn't celebrate the death of an officer. These types of things are on the headlines
of Yahoo news every day. sad story, but this is news. it's like the 9-11 shots we watched over and over or the gory shots from war.
Lots of us like to see what really happens out there good or bad. These shots are intense, and I found myself glued to it.

I was in too much of a hurry to post my full thoughts the other day, but I love how we let kids see all these horrific acts of violence and crime on the news, but God forbid we let a 13 year old see Gwenyth Paltrow's boobs on a giant TV screen.

I am forever indebted to Shakespeare in Love, btw. Thank you, Gwenyth.

Nah. I've shot and destroyed many propane tanks in my day. Unless you've got them sitting in a fire, they don't really explode like that. Even in a fire, they just shoot out like a rocket. Since these were strapped to the trailer, I doubt it would've done anything at all. Puncture and leak most likely. (unless it somehow made a spark, but this isn't Hollywood)

This.
I've shot my fair share of propane tanks and all they did was leak.
Also, mythbusters did an episode on propane tanks exploding when shot and nothing happened.
The only way they were able to get it to explode was by using incendiary ammunition.
