Political ideology thread

Sorry I brought up Jews as a joke about your political ideology. I broke the first rule of the thread.

How do you propose paying for things after cutting 92% of revenue though?

I don't know man, I got worn out. Writing about politics wears me out lol

I'll be more than happy to debate over it if you come around Salt Lake. Maybe go grab a coffee or something.

Haha. I hate debating politics in person. It's way too tiring. I won't worry about the tax conversation for now. Come back to it of you want.

It does suck that 6% of our income goes to interest on debt.

Sorry not 6% of our income but 6% of our spending

Just wait until the interest rate goes up.

Forecasters at the White House and Congressional Budget Office believe interest rates will gradually rise, and when that happens, the interest costs of the U.S. government are set to soar, from just over $200 billion to nearly $800 billion a year by decade’s end.

I don't have much to say about the socioeconomic policies of the American government but if we can also discuss political ideologies as macro theories, then I would like to note that you cannot know if an ideology sucks unless you get to live through it that has been built in a humane way. Like socialism. American people look at the Soviets as their Cold War arch nemesis and think of any communist as a traitor. I say screw the image of Soviets and study what socialism brought to humanity as a structure of thoughts. If fact we all owe or social welfare rights, institutions and foundations that help and try to help make our lives better, help the unfortunate etc. etc. to socialistic ideas that evolved throughout history of thinking and governing and revolutions.

For me the debating of the use of it is pointless. legalize it. I agree that the recreational use had been demonized and it's very foolish IMO. This from someone who wants it legalized but has 0 interest in using.

Also I want to make a post in here about two parent households and the fall of them but I don't have it in me right now.

Have you ever used it? Pot is not something that you would want to shape the brain activity abilities of your people if you are a governor. Let it be free to use but limit it in certain times and places. If you are unable to do it and are unable to observe and control enough to block anti social acts from harming innocents, ban it. This is why there is a blurry line in the freedom of the use of drugs and alcohol. Maybe someday technology advances to such an high level that people can be detected as "good person, won't kill anyone or beat up wife after lighting up a pot" or "potential Ted Bundy" . I would like that. A malfunction would suck though.

I think that governments were instituted for the purpose of protecting the property and privilege of the few. I believe this is still their primary function today and always will be so long as we continue to centralize decision making in so few leaders and institutions. I believe the government cannot get out of the welfare business because it's system of property has condemned the vast majority of people to collect a mere fraction of the value of their labor. I think that the state has always lagged behind social change and has only come to accept it once it could no longer resist it.

I believe that we will replace not only the state but also megalithic corporations with institutions that better serve the people, though not in my lifetime.

Hey, Alt, are you the one who lives in some sort of commune(no negative connotation)? My thinking has been trending that way recently, but I'm having some thinking about how that lifestyle would be applied in the large scale. So I was looking for someone who might have experience with that to chime in on how it could be applied to larger group(or anyone else really).

Echoing people from earlier in the thread I agree that it's high time to move on from the two parent household. Not too many ideas on how to move that forward socially though.

Humanity survived for tens of thousands of years before that dynamic was invented, and it will survive long after it had become obsolete.

Any ideas on how to actively push for alternatives to the two parent household?

No, I don't live in a commune. I do like folk songs but I hate lentil soup.

Thing about legalizing versus not legalizing is that even when illegal 20 million people are still doing it anyway (and that number continually grows)
Might as well have it legal and make money off it, keep people out of jail and court, and try to make it as safe as possible.

I also think that if you legalize then you hurt the cartels, and lower the use of hard drugs. Just a couple of possible side benefits.

I'm just saying that the sweet air of freedom doesn't last long when it has penetrated inside your life too deep that you cannot tell where to begin to clean it up.

You always sound like a Kurdish origined French educated American accountsman who is short but charming for ladies and still shies away from them even though he scores from time to time because he is a sweet john snow. I would like to think of you as a former member of the Paris commune experiment. Or maybe a Kibbutz?

There are a lot of ways for a person to be a worthless POS. And no one owes their self to others. Most of us, the overwhelming majority, despite our flaws, are overall good people who take care of our own **** and help other people out now and then. That is true even though we all face countless choices that would lead us away from that. Unfortunately some of us go the wrong way. It could be in any number of ways. Drugs is but one of an unlimited array of bad choices we could make.

And let's be absolutely clear. Any one of us can make the choice to use drugs. The prohibition of such is a bad joke. More people are harmed by drug prohibition than people are protected. In fact, if your family has suffered from drug addiction it is very likely that the prohibition and criminalization of drugs ADDED to your suffering, hardship and tragedy.

Couldn't agree any more with this post.

I'm fine with all that but the short part.

Perhaps it isn't sweet air, but it's definitely freedom. Freedom doesn't equal success and happiness. Freedom can allow you to **** up your own life too.

Hey man, then don't vote for the governor who 'lights up a pot'. Or move somewhere governed by a pot-free governor.

I don't live in a commune. It was a quote from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

Your mother was a hamster, and your father smells of elderberries. Now go away before I taunt you a second time.
