poll: predict record of the upcoming roadie

Jazz are terrible B2B, especially with young guys on the floor. The only win I can see is Atlanta -or- an upset in Miami tonight.

2 - 2 with wins over Charlotte and either Hawks or Magic.

Dwight has expanded his game a lot (thanks to workouts with Hakeem) and he is beasting down low. Rashard Lewis misses a passer like Hedo and his efficiency has dropped since Hedo departed. However, shooter, stretch 4s are always a problem for Jazz because neither Boozer in his time in Utah or Paul are used to defending the perimeter and outside the painted area. Both Lewis and Anderson might hurt us from downtown, which I would prefer to letting Dwight Howard get the ball inside and draw fouls and and 1s. It has to be a bargain for Jazz against Magic, for now, the Jazz, who can be considered a work in progress, simply cannot match the depth and versatility of Magic, who has kept all of core players from last year and consolidated PG position. Hopefully, JJ Redick and Pietrus will act like ballhogs and fell in love with Js so that Howard will become a little bit less of a factor in the game.

Atlanta lost to Phx and the main reason was the atricious, terrrible, awful defense of Mike Bibbythroughout the game. THe guy simply cannot defend at all. Using Bibby and "defense" in the same sentences is a disrespect for the term defense. Atlanta's defensive principle is based on "switching" all the positions during the course of defensive positions. Phoenix team have so many great passers and high IQ, veteran players -like Nash, Hill, Hedo and now a young Dragic- that it exploited the weakness of switching principle by good ball movement and patient offense, which allowed Suns to find miss-matches. Sloan's offense, IMO, requirres patience, commitment and proper selections in response to the defensive behaviours. Al Horford has become a real, legit post player with a consistent, deadly 15-20 foot J. His game is a fun to watch. He is one of the best defenders in the league, has the lowest percentage of allowed points on pick'n roll, one on one situations. Tough matchup for Jazz bigmen. Hopefully, one of Ronnie or Watson will come up huge for us and bring another scorer and impact player off the bench.

0-4 or 1-3.

0-4: "...yeah."
1-3: "Nice, got one."
2-2: "5-5, wow."
3-1: "Championship contenders."
4-0: Yeah right.

I predict blow-out losses against the Heat and the Magic.

Thought it would be fun to bump this and see if anyone wants to update their predictions.

2 B2B 2nd night wins 8 games into the season!!!

Nice you were this (ll) close to being right. Damn team had to come back and ruin your prediction. Just kidding though, couldn't resist when I saw this.

I'm glad the OP didn't actually post a poll, or I would be eating crow right now for predicting 0-4.

Well I said 2 and 2 on this trip. But I'll say right now that I well actually be disappointed if thats how it turns out now. I want 4-0 but well still be happy with 3-1 unless the loss is to the Bobcats. That would just be stupid to lose to the worst of the 4 teams you play after beating the others.

We still haven't won tomorrow's game. :)

true. And not to insult the bobcats or delegitimize them, but if we lose tomorrow's game I'm going to be very disappointed. Beating 3 of the best eastern teams -- even if all 3 are struggling, on a road trip, and then lose to the Bobcats.

Actually, probably wouldn't surprise me.

You didn't consider the traveling factor and the fact that it's the 4th game in 5 nights. Not saying we won't win, but it can be tougher than we think.
