I actually prefer Boone, but Harp does a decent job. Harps main problem is that he is being tainted by Bolerhack and heading down a path that will turn him into Hackring.

Boone is good because of his obvious knowledge of the game and total lack of fear to call it like he sees it. I often feel that Boler and Harp are trying to smooth things over while Boone says stuff like "that kid never saw a shot he didn't like". Also Boone has no problem correcting Boler, which I am sure Bolerhack hates.

Yeah Boone doesn't have the best grasp of the english language and he tends to get tongue-tied, but he is all basketball, all the time, and knows his ****. No fry sauce there. And that is refreshing after the garbage Boler, and now Harp, have been spewing. I hope Harp gets back the edge he had when he was a fill-in and hadn't been tainted by Boler. Then he would be far better than Boone. Until then, Boone is superior as a color commentator.

I don't mind a switch up once in while, its refreshing. A couple things that annoy me though:
-Every single 3 the Jazz make (leads to a donating promo for mountain america) ***not that I have a problem with donations, but there should be a visual reminder instead.
-Boler rookie comments to Harpring
-From Big Al to Al J
-Don't like the kantershop :S nickname
-The reluctance to call out Raja or Chucker

In the end, I do like Harpring's straightforwardness on what the Jazz need to d". I also tend to like coach Phil analysis during half time.

"Bull in a Kanter Shop" has to be the worst, least creative, non-nonsensical nickname I have ever heard in NBA history.

Yet it still comes up every game.

Hear Hear! Freakazoid - you listening to this?? I expect an improvement in your next game.

You do realize that name is adapted from a name Jerry Sloan once called Raul Lopez right?

It's close. Boone is like the old senile half drunk uncle that I can't help but like even when he's messing up. That being said I'm going with Harp from maybe just a rebellious perspective, since so many people here bag on him and I really don't think he's bad at all.

Boone is nothing great; but Harpring is just awful.

Harpring has about 20 phrases or orbservations in his repertoire and he uses them over and over.

Agreed.

But in fairness to Harp, that gives him about 4 times the catch-phrases Bolerhack uses.

"Banged down the layup." "Banged down the 3 pointer." "Banged down the free throw." "Banged down the timeout." "Banged down the introductions." "Banged down the national anthem."

He sure has banged on the mind a lot.

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha... I can't breath,, I can't breath,,

"You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to LogGrad98 again."

The term 'Bull in a China Shop' has been around forever.

The term 'Bull in a Kanter Shop' is just throwing Kanter's last name in a random phrase. It doesn't make sense. The hell is a Kanter shop supposed to be? If you want to call him a Bull, just call him the Bull from Istanbul.

Even if Sloan called Raul 'A Bull in a Lopez shop', it doesn't make it any more creative. Jerry's even known for saying weird crap all the time, like Jackpotting, etc.

True; but don't forget Bolerjack is a play-by-play guy.

Harpring is a color guy - big difference.

Harpring is supposed to bring insight into what is happening in front of you - not saying the same dumb **** ad naseum.

Had to cast my vote for Harpring based on Booner's ineptitude. My friend used to do an impression of Hot-Rod and Booner. He would go on for about twenty seconds saying stuff like (in Hot-Rod's voice), "hippity-hoppin' down the lane; lets fly for three; yes!; and Stock with a gentle push and a mild arc, the cowhide globe hits home; and you gotta love it baby." Then he would slip into Booner's monotone voice with: "that was a nice shot." He would repeat this pattern, and it was hilarious and true.

There's a "Rep" waiting for you if you can tape it and share it with us.

I noticed Booner was the color man with Bolerjack tonight, and it seemed to me that Boler has a much better rapport with Freakazoid. So, I was wondering what others on here thought. Who do you prefer, the Freak or Booner? Not that the Booner is a bad guy. In fact, he seems like a standup person but I think the Freak is already a better broadcaster.
Umm, the politically correct term is "African American man."

Ron Boone is blessed with the lack of that 5 year old over-eagerness to impress or make an obnoxious "funny" that is present in el Harp.

There was a situation where a Jazz player was poked in the eye when working down low in the post, and Boler and Harpring were talking about wearing goggles for protection. Boler then asked Harpring "You were a banger back in the day, and you didn't wear protection." And Matt said "Hahaha, no, no I didn't."

Or something like that.

I can't completely remember because I was too busy laughing.

I voted for Freak. Wasn't an easy decision though. But I believe Freak can improve so that was the edge.

AMEN sir! I HATE it when Harp says that. It reeks of sheer stupidity.
