What's new

Pop kicking Donald's ***

Bull ****.

Where were you when Obama did the exact same thing? People hate Trump because he shows off and brags about his inner ******* instead of hiding it like other presidents were good at. It's that simple.

Yeah, like most white supremacists sympathizers and apologists.

Oh wait...

If you think I'm being a Trump apologist, you're mistaken. Trump is an embarrassment. I feel like you keep trying to disagree with things we actually agree on.

It's the cy way.

Yeah, like most white supremacists sympathizers and apologists.

Huh?

It's pretty simple logic. Most politicians lie to get into office as they must to gain votes. Then they don't deliver all the golden geese they promise. The difference with Donald is he is not a politician at all. He bends over and shows you the moon, with both fingers up in a **** you salute. A traditional politician does the same thing but with much more class, while pulling at much more PC heartstrings of their base.

Tell me which is worse? Acting like a stupid ******* or a politician who weasels like a snake oil salesman? I don't see a difference, really, other than Trump being a clear megalomaniac.

But Trump is both of those things tho.

Not all politicians are full blown demagogues. Although almost all of them do depend on some skills and ploys associated with demagogues. And it's difficult to have a democracy with universal suffrage and not see the rise of a demagogue, especially at times of great social and cultural change. And we're going through that in spades. People look for easy solutions at such times. Trump just seems to be the best example of a successful demagogue, in our history, to date. At least at the level of the Presidency.

It was fairly easy to recognize Trump for what he was from the get go. If you're fine with such leader types, the Strong Man, he doesn't automatically elicit fear, or concern for democratic institutions. If you're not, he might be your worst nightmare come true. Personally, appointing Scott Pruitt to head the EPA would be more then enough for me to despise him. That one appointment, and it's results so far, are way more then enough for me to loath the guy. The whole anti-science irrationality that permeates his administration is way more then enough.

Lacking legislative accomplishments, he's been almost completely focused on the culture wars. He's got to figure a good % of his base will stick with him simply because he speaks their language in the culture wars, and stokes their anger within the issues that dominate those wars. I'm not sure how one calls that leadership. He stokes people's anger and fears. He might not be the first, but I believe he's the best at that so far.

Even where the issue in this thread is involved. The biggest question is what are 4 American soldiers doing being ambushed and killed in Niger? Instead, he's got the media completely focused on whether Obama offered condolences to Gen. Kelly for the death of his son. He's good at that, and the media lets him do that every time so far.

So what's up with Niger?

This outta give kelly and the rest of our armed forces warm fuzzies. What leadership!

http://www.cnn.com/2017/10/17/politics/frederica-wilson-widow-fallen-soldier/index.html

(CNN)President Donald Trump told the widow of a US serviceman killed in the ambush in Niger that "he knew what he signed up for, but I guess it still hurt," according to Rep. Frederica Wilson.

The body of Sgt. La David Johnson was returned home to the Miami area late Tuesday afternoon, with the plane receiving a water cannon salute as it arrived near the gate.
The call from the President to Johnson's widow came shortly before Johnson's casket arrival, Wilson, a Florida Democrat, said on "CNN Tonight with Don Lemon" Tuesday.

"Basically he said, 'Well, I guess he knew what he signed up for, but I guess it still hurt,' " Wilson said, adding that she listened to part of the call on speaker phone while in a vehicle with the family..

Maybe it is better if he doesn't call the families. He doesn't understand tact and empathy, obviously.

What a ridiculous attitude to have towards service men and women. Nobody joins the military expecting to be killed in action.

Considering how eager Trump has been to use the tired trope of "respect for the troops" as a political bludgeon to beat his opponents with in the NFL and elsewhere, it comes as little surprise to see such callous dismissiveness towards them.

I see where someone is actually blaming "people like" myself for divisiveness in America. I guess I could stand having a thicker skin, but I'll just say surely people understand that it takes at least two widely divergent points of view to create divisiveness?? Whatever else one feels toward Donald Trump, if one cannot see his non stop emphasis on the culture wars is stoking divisiveness in America, then one is not paying close enough attention to his statements and what he chooses to emphasize in his remarks....

America was divided long before trump entered the political scene. To me it seems fairly obvious that it has gotten worse with each election. Clinton had a rough go, Bush was vilified, Obama couldn't do a single thing right and now people are mad the current President is even alive basically.

To be clear I am not a supporter of his. He has little to none of the qualities I want in a president and I hate a bunch of his policies like the wall and military service ban. I blame him for a large part of the current political climate. But let's not delude ourselves into thinking that those opposed to him are not adding to that environment. They are still responsible for their actions and words. It is gleefully being stoked by "leaders" and groups on both sides.

Even Pew research released an article saying that political ideology is now the single greatest divider in America. More than ethnicity, gender, nationality, economic status or religious ideology. Something that bad takes two antagonists to create.

We see it right here in JFC. There is not even the attempt to cover up the disdain for opposing views anymore.

All I'm sayin is if those closet homosexual perverts parading around as champions of moral behavior would actually care for anyone besides their own, we'd be fine.

I keep waiting for Donald’s base to condemn his phone call. Could you imagine the outrage if obama or Clinton had done this? I keep waiting for Donald’s base that was soooooo outraged at black NFL players “disrespecting” the flag to now call their boy out for yet another blatant slap in the face of a gold star family. I want to see them show the same anger at Donald as they did black athletes. You know, cuz they’re like not rscist and this is like totally about patriotism.

Its kind of like 95% of modern politicians are corrupt hack jobs whose primary function is to serve corporate interest. Then when the American people finally realized this they started voting for Bernie. Then the corporate media either ignored the movement or attacked it with lies. Then when that didn't work the DNC rigged the primaries.

Things are only going to get worse as the wage gape increases and the middle class shrinks further.

I think the phone call is being blown out of proportion and it is based on the paraphrased recollection of a Democrat politician who heard part of the call on speaker phone.

This isn't heresay, or opinion. Court's have conceded that the DNC rigged the election back in August. You know, incase you missed it.

http://www.dailywire.com/news/20271/court-admits-dnc-wasserman-schulz-rigged-primaries-joseph-curl

“In evaluating Plaintiffs’ claims at this stage, the Court assumes their allegations are true — that the DNC and Wasserman Schultz held a palpable bias in favor Clinton and sought to propel her ahead of her Democratic opponent,” he wrote.

“The Court thus assumes that the DNC and Wasserman Schultz preferred Hillary Clinton as the Democratic candidate for president over Bernie Sanders or any other Democratic candidate. It assumes that they stockpiled information useful to the Clinton campaign. It assumes that they devoted their resources to assist Clinton in securing the party’s nomination and opposing other Democratic candidates. And it assumes that they engaged in these surreptitious acts while publicly proclaiming they were completely neutral, fair, and impartial. This Order therefore concerns only technical matters of pleading and subject-matter jurisdiction," Zloch wrote.

But that didn't affect the merits of the case as to whether the two lawyers had standing to sue.

“The Court must now decide whether Plaintiffs have suffered a concrete injury particularized to them, or one certainly impending, that is traceable to the DNC and its former chair’s conduct — the keys to entering federal court. The Court holds that they have not.

I'm surmising that if he had simply not responded so defensively when asked why he had still not publicly talked about the 4 members of the Special Forces killed in Niger on October 4th, Trump would not now appear to have foot in mouth disease. Moments ago, about 12:00 noon today, he once again firmly denied saying to the widow what the Congresswoman who overheard Trump on speakerphone stated she heard him say. Yet, the mother of the fallen serviceman was there, also overheard the President's comments, has spoken out, and is supporting the Congresswoman. These are the strange "twisted like a pretzel" situations he seems to back himself into when he decides to wing answers to questions at times. Rather then correct himself, he just makes matters worse. In his last statement, he did not reaffirm that he had "proof" of what he said. He can be his own worse enemy when he wings it...

The fact that, in our current climate, to even have people listen to your opinion at all, you have to include the caveat I bolded above, is a clear sign exactly how divided and how irrational everyone's hatred has become. If you give the slightest inkling of anything that might be construed to have a hint of support for the current administration not only will your full opinion, regardless of its actual validity on its own merits, not just be disregarded, but attacked in ways that immediately devolve into personal attacks and claims of racism and worse. I think we may be seeing the beginning of the end of real public discourse in this country, where dissenting opinions could be expressed and discussed openly, without fear of instant and damaging retribution for holding a "wrong" opinion.
