Pop kicking Donald's ***

I will settle for actual facts supporting the claims of "representative of the majority of republicans". It must be actual facts from reputable peer reviewed sources that objectively support this claim. It must also prove that the "majority" are represented specifically by "trumpism" as "spouted by Bannon". I will settle for a mere simple majority, so let's say 51% for the sake of simplicity.

Haha hilarious! I can’t keep up with your moving the goalposts here. I’ll consider that your white flag

Yeah, OK, guy. Bringing up my marriage from 5 years ago that lasted years longer than it should have is a fresh new take, dude. Since you're making it personal I might inform you I have a beautiful, smart and sweet gf. I have an amazing, happy, smart, cute and awesome 5-year-old son I get one weeknight and every weekend since he was born. I work for a great company and love my job. We're building a home and have a 4-month-old puppy that's a giant schnauzer mixed with a great pyrenees. He's 50 pounds already! After struggling with depression and life for a while, I can honestly say I haven't been this happy in years. Absolutely love it.

P.S. I have no beefs paying child support. It goes to the best mistake I've ever made.

I'm not insulting you, Thriller. I'm just amazed how your perception of reality in somethings can be flawed.

Oh good! I’m glad that youre recovering and trying to make something of your life. That’s nice

Let's firm up those goalpost for you, see if we can stop your weasel act. Please provide sources as you support your OWN QUOTE, which has been quoted a few times now. Feel free to support the very thing you said. Or try to find some other way to say "it depends on what the definition of is is".

Do you mind telling me how superior and better of a life you have - and what you've done with yours? I mean, obviously, you sound so gawd damn perfect and better than me.

How can you argue that Trumpism spouted by Bannon and Donnie isn't representative of the majority of republicans? What actual evidence do you have to support your statement? I get that you don't agree with it. But look around, most of your party does.

So, I see The Thriller is actively posting today, see if he chooses to provide evidence and facts backing up his assertion that white supremacist trump and bannon represent the majority of republicans. Or does he try to weasel out of it again, or is it simply his "white flag"?

LogGrad98 Apparently you want to continue this discussion and aren’t just trying to troll. So answer me these questions so I can better understand where you are coming from and how we can Best continue our discussion.

So I’m curious (1) where you believe researchers should get their facts from? What do you think qualifies for empirical data? Surveys? Polls? Election outcomes? What should we analyze? (2) what should the thesis be? What exactly do you want us to understand? (3) is it your belief that the majority of republicans don’t support Donald Trump? Optional question, depending on your answer to (3), if (4) the majority of republicans don’t support trump or his ideas, why did he win in 2016 and why do most republican politicians refuse to speak out publicly against him despite it being well known that they disagree with him privately?

You claim that white supremacist doctrine is representative of the majority of republicans. I think your quote above is quite insulting to most republicans. You are basing this assertion on the comments and actions of the few that come out to rallies apparently, but I asked you to support this claim with objective facts that show that the majority of republicans support these white supremacist views. Either you can do that or you cannot. I am giving you some leeway here, but I expect to see something objective or see you back off of this insulting stance. I know many republicans, and we have many on this forum, and I think your comments are unconscionable for the majority of republicans. Since it is your assertion I expect you to back it up.

The one thing I will push back on at the outset is the election results. Trump did not run on a white supremacist platform. He ran largely on an anti-Clinton platform. The issue of his connections with white supremacists came about largely after the elections. If you want to show empirical evidence that his platform was indeed based on white supremacist values and that his constituency largely knew this and voted for him because they espoused similar viewpoints then we can discuss this.

But frankly I find it insulting for you to so self-righteously impeach the integrity of millions of Americans, and many on this board, simply because you are so filled with vitriol for anything that is not on "your side", and I think you should put up, or shut up.

Trump ran a campaign of hate. He trashed everything, even when he totally contradicted himself. His comments resonated with white supremacists. If you voted for Trump you were part of that. So the integrity of millions of Americans was impeached when they voted for the scummiest dude of all time. It's not about sides, as you say it is.

I agree with this. I'm still shocked that he even had a shot in hell at becoming president of the United states. I'm shocked that he was voted through the primaries. I'm shocked that he didn't lose by an incredible margin in the presidential election, hilary or no hilary.

I have been hoping that evidence/proof would be found that millions and millions of trump votes would turn out to be somehow fraudulent/fake/illegal because otherwise that would mean that many many Americans are cool with such a vile disgusting pompous moronic douche bag as our president. Makes me sad really.
And it ain't about politics for me. I could give a **** about partisan **** or party lines or whatever.

He was able to tap into the millions that felt left behind for whatever reason. For example the coal industry in the rust belt. They felt abandoned over their jobs and livelihood. He capitalized on that. His America First pitch worked. America first sounds great as a sound bite. But his policies in actuality are often down right idiotic.

As for fraudulent votes, I have no doubt in my mind that voting fraud occurred. It occurs every election I'd bet. But it is such a small and scattered amount that it makes no real difference. It is the exception not the rule.

Unfortunately this Presidency is here to stay short of them getting him on Russia. Even sadder than that, IMO, is that the atmosphere that gave him his opening is here to stay.

I feel like, ever since the election, we've been living in a Rick and Morty-esque alternate reality. That said, the reality of having choice between Hillary and Trump as POTUS is a sad and scary reality in and of itself. Americans have been dumbed down to a divisive Team Jacob or Team Edward mentality and it starts from the top.

I work with a lot of politically sophisticated, well educated people who will vote for a Trump re-election. One says he will based simply on the fact that he hates how the media is constantly telling us who we have to vote for and demonizing anyone who doesn't do their bidding. Others will vote for him because they're fed up with this double standard, non-uniform justice or reporting.

Those people sound like idiots. I'm not going to vote for the candidate I think is best or that I like best..... I'm gonna vote for the candidate that others don't want me to.
Seems childish to me. Sad

I have a couple of co-workers who loudly support Trump. Because he loves America, God damn it!

On here, having fundamentals is often seen as childish and sad, or outright ignored for an agenda.

To be clear I was not trying to ignite a debate about why Trump got elected. I merely pointed out that people largely did NOT vote for Trump due to their racism. I was also looking for a legitimate response here as to the claim that the majority of republicans are directly represented by white supremacist agendas.

I simply believe that the gist of what Trump was getting at in his platform could largely be boiled down to an anti-Clinton agenda, and my own experience talking to people about it and and reading many article where people more or less said they were voting more against Clinton than for Trump.

His campaign did have a large healthy dose of anti-clintonism. But it was more complex than just that. There was also a very prominent nationalism. As evidenced by is travel ban, border wall and DACA policies.
