What's new

Pope says "better to be an atheist than hypocritical catholic".

Seriously though start a thread about something you care about. Don't worry whether or not it's received well. When you went on your Bundy kick yeah I disagreed with you but your honesty was refreshing. It seems like you're honest only once in a great while.

What about a hypocritical atheist?

I'd also be curious how people view his statement when considering that this would also be referencing pro-choice Catholics (based on multiple previous statements on abortion) and if they'd still support it. It seems as he's been in the news for some of his more progressive statements that it's used as a bludgeoning stick to beat over people leaning right while neglecting a lot of the underpinning and attached beliefs that this pontiff has deeply rooted in what's otherwise considered oppressive right-wing rhetoric.

You mean like someone who claims to have no belief in God but secretly worships?

Touche, is it possible to be a human and not be hypocritical?

I believe that would be someone who gives up everything for others, like the Savior Christ's legends.

But by human you should say humanity. The make up of humanity is also what makes us all hypocrites. Anyone that forces there beliefs on others is a hypocrite. That is what humanity is all about an what sets a sole species on earth apart from ever other innumerable species.
