Gregg Popovich heaped praise on Utah and its first-year coach, Quin Snyder, after the Jazz rolled to a 90-81 victory over the Spurs on Monday night at EnergySolutions Arena.

Utah limited San Antonio to 40 percent shooting. The Jazz handed the Spurs their third straight loss.

"They were great," Popovich said. "Quin and his staff have done a great job of getting their system across and instilling the aggressiveness and physicality that's needed to win in the NBA. They played unselfishly. They believe in each other. I thought they were tremendous."

I love Gregg Popovich, he's such a great coach and to have him take notice of what our young team is becoming should make Jazz fans excited about the future... I mean, if you weren't already. The future is very, very bright and in Quin I trust.

One thing I see in Quin that we didn't see in Corbin is actuall in season improvement and in game improvement. It's starting to look like DL has hit a home run with the Quin hire

I am not sure you are aware but this is Jazzfanz. Any indication, no matter how minor, that the FO has done anything right will not be tolerated.

The biggest change that has come with the Quin Snyder hire has been a complete emphasis on player development and defense. Not to mention his passion and fire for the game which has rubbed off on all of our young guns. One of the biggest moments for me was when Q called that timeout in disgust and didn't say a single word during the break, I think that really struck a cord with the team. It's like a parent telling you "they're not mad, just disappointed" and who would want disappoint Q with that gorgeous hair?

I love watching Q on the sidelines and overhearing him calling out to the team during the game. Even better, it seems like every time someone comes back to the bench they are getting some kind of feedback/teaching. He is taking an active role in coaching, and he looks completely engaged in what they're doing. I never saw that kind of engaged coaching from Ty. Absolutely loving what Snyder is getting from this team.

Look at the wins the Jazz have.

Suns (1), Cavs (1), Blazers (1), OKC (1), Spurs (2), Heat (1), Grizz (1), Bulls (1), Bucks (1), Warriors (1), Pelicans (1), Nets (1), Pistons (1)

That is 14 of the Jazz's 21 wins. All of those teams are playoff teams or in the playoff hunt. The italics = road games. Now not all those teams are equal but they are all playing to win.

Jazz also have wins agaisnt the Kings, Lakers, Wolves (2), 6ers, Knicks and Magic.

Jazz have done this while dealing with being one of the youngest teams in the league, new coach and system, injuries, d league call ups and 6 starters/rotation players being rookies and sophmores. All while playing a very difficult schedule to date.

During this time the Jazz as a team and as individual players have shown fantastic growth. Especially Gobert, Favors and Hayward. Burke is turning it on lately.

Of the Jazz's remaining 27 games 15 are against weaker teams like the 6ers, Lakers, Kings and Wolves.

Snyder has this team clicking and I think the Jazz post an above .500 record from here on out. Next year he will get COY consideration.

Every time a coach or player on a different team speaks highly of the Jazz I feel all warm and fuzzy inside. c:

I enjoy watching the feeds from other announcers. Everyone loves Gobert.

This reminds me of a game last season played in OKC. At one point during the broadcast (the Jazz one) you could overhear the PA announcer in the background mispronouncing Gobert as "Go Bert". I don't think that will happen again.

COY consideration means deep playoff run so I hope you come up right.

Meanwhile, Ginobili says that the Spurs just played bad in all aspects. I think he really meant to say outplayed in all aspects. Jazz coulda easily won by 20.

Most those wins came against teams in disarray (i.e. OKC had Westbrook and Durant out; Cavs were losing every game and still figuring it out).

That same argument also applies to the Jazz, possibly even more so. But then you have wins like the Warriors, Spurs, Bulls, Pelicans and Blazers ones where there are no excuses.

I suspect GVC and mission accomplish will go on a mini hiatus while DL bask in the lime light of success for a while... LOL
