What's new

Portland Trailblazers @ OUR Utah Jazz TODAY at 1900.

I'm not thrilled with how the Jazz played, and thought their lack of energy was awful, but on the other hand you have to tip your cap to Lillard and McCulloum, who pretty much threw everything in the basket. It was frustrating to watch, but that happens sometimes.

Just finished the game. What the **** was that? Such an awful and frustrating game to watch. So ugly.

Sup bro.
You coming to the mini meet up on Saturday night?

So has anybody looked at the shot chart?

The Jazz only allowed 5 corner threes, forced a ton of shots from long midrange or floater location and got killed because the Blazers shot unsustainable percentages on those.

73 percent on long mid range jumpers. Wow.

LOL please everyone re-read this post after realizing that Burks is on the floor closing games, and was the driving force behind the runs in the 4th quarters in this loss and the loss to Detroit.

Yet cy says he's good for staving off runs, it's totally *** backwards, and would'nt ya know it, fits in with the narrative he's been trying to miscast on Burks here for years..

Yeah sometimes it happens, the Jazz defense wasn't great, but it wasn't bad. What killed the team was poor, to much settling for shots instead of going for the extra pass that gives you a great shot. You can see this in the very limited number of TOs : the offense was too conservative, and didn't try to get better baskets.

But Q disagrees, he said it was the defense not the offense. IMO, Favors was sick, and it threw everything off a bit.

Many people want to say it was just an incredible shooting night by the Blazers, maybe. When Jazz lost to Detroit, Steve Blake and Reggie Jackson had outstanding performances. Let's watch to see if amazing pg play by the opponents is a trend.

We miss you Exum!

PS. Lyles sucks.

I'm trying to reserve judgement on lyles. I try to remind myself that Favors was pretty underwhelming at that age and stage of his career. I'm trying to believe Lindsey's overhaul of the Jazz scouting and predraft process will produce results.

Sometimes optimism is a choice, and it requires more effort than despair.

It was clearly the defense. The Jazz got torched in the area's the Blazers focus on.

Portland wasn't just making their shots, that's an understatement. They were consistently getting clean looks.

That why the halftime adjustments didn't really work, they still scored 51 in the 2nd half..

What's the mini meet up? I haven't heard about it. Work has been busy so I wasn't on the forum as much this week.

Saturday we are meeting up at All Star Bowling Lanes to watch a jazz game and do some bowling. Right now I believe there are 4 of us that are going for sure and a few others that are maybeez

How do you lose to a team at HOME that has 19 turnovers and only 9 assists? Can you explain that???

Too much is being made about the lack of assist. Guys have to take and make shots. Favors missed a lot of elbow jumpers. Booker missed a few chances to complete an assist. Burks doesn't take 3's when it's kick out to him he rather drive. Hayward been off all season and Hood was off that game.

A wire-to-wire victory at that..

I can explain part of it though. Portland was underrated by Vegas an d the national pundits. they've already got more than 10% of their wins needed to surpass the O/U for the season..

With Hayward in a slump, Favors being sick and Gobert rendered useless by nobody attacking the rim, it was kinda hard to win.

Blazers style of play is the good one vs Jazz : shooting and 1vs1, it was a tough matchup.

Now had we bought a good defensive PG it would have been better.

List of people who failed at guarding Lillard and McCollum:

Burke
Burks
Neto
Hood

Also our bigs needed to push up and give them more support. Millsap only got a few minutes-- but this exposed a weakness among our guards and wings. We have not defensive stopper who are good enough offensively.

What do y'all make of the Meyers Leonard injury? Was that a dirty play from Booker? Kinda looks like it was... He Bruce Bowen'ed him.. (0:34)
