Last year the Jazz lost virtually every game post all star break. We played 10 day contracts. Players were hurt. Totally wrapped up the season to race from 10th to 8th position. We traded away Fontechio, Olynyk, and others who were not helping the tank and the tanking was clear.

This year going to down the final stretch feels different. Our young players are improving and games are getting tighter. We didn't trade any key contributors away. But the incentive to stay bottom 4 should be higher than ever. I mean, at this point... 28 games left we can't prioritize winning for 28 meaningless games when it can alter your destiny, right?

The first six are all at home and quite a few winnable games. I don't think anyone inside the locker room would appreciate full tanking right now, but would be more understanding towards the end of the season. However, that's the much easier tanking part. It's twice as many away games as at home plus the final stretch is 6/8 away games against mostly teams that are fighting for playoff positioning, with only the Thunder game where they will be resting everyone. So those are gonna be losses without much (or any) tanking effort. I'm sure it would be easier if it was the other way round. But also means we'll probably get our answers straight away after the break.

I don't think this team is capable of winning 15 games even if we tried to win every game. I know we have some easy games on the schedule, but we aren't winning 54% of our remaining games.

Looking a little closer at our schedule I can see 11 games we are at risk of winning. I'm guessing the majority of our good players sit for that game, so maybe we get away with only winning half of those games.

If there was an option I would have guessed 5 to 6 games.

I say we win 8 more.

Im confused at the options because I want to say "Let the rookies/sophomores dominate" but that's attached to 15+ wins, and the Jazz would certainly not win 15+ games if they went with a rookie/sophomore heavy minutes distribution.

7+ because the roster has too much uninjured talent to win fewer games than that regardless of the tank-wishes of management. The rooks and youngins are getting so many reps in that, since they are actually talented, they'll start winning a few games. Vet status is more about minutes on an NBA court than years spent on a bench- our very young players aren't toddlers making toddler mistakes anymore, they are becoming real pros, and will start winning games as a consequence- and though I said 7+, the emphasis is on the plus, I wouldn't be surprised at anything between 8 and 18.

The only way the Jazz get 15+ wins are by overplaying Lauri, Kessler, Collins, Sexton and Clarkson.

I added 5 - 6 wins. The edit options are limited.

We are letting the rookies and sophmores loose, but the 15+ means that they have real success playing the rookies and sophmores and they get good enough doing so that they jeopardize the tank.

completely depends on if they keep playing markannen, the jcs, sexton, etc. if they do, they could win 10-15 more games. and i will jump off a tall building.
