Post what each player should improve on to make the team better (And maybe who they should model there games after)

19 Bell, Raja: Be more consistent from the outside
16 Elson, Francisco: Shot Selection?
40 Evans, Jeremy: Outside shot & Strength
44 Fesenko, Kyrylo: Free Throw Shooting (And demand playing time)
20 Hayward, Gordon: Man to Man defense and strength
25 Jefferson, Al: Get to the free throw line (Model Gasol)
47 Kirilenko, Andrei: Shot Selection & Drive more
34 Miles, C.J.: Get to the free throw line!
24 Millsap, Paul: Where did the rebounding go?
13 Okur, Mehmet: Health!
17 Price, Ronnie: Shot Selection, Turnovers & Fouls
11 Watson, Earl: Outside shot
8 Williams, Deron: Defense, turnovers & trust your teammates more

Edit mine or give your thoughts.

My number one problem is CJ Miles. I love his talent but he is actually really good at getting to the hoop. He should shoot more free throws than 3 point shots or be benched.

Bell: Not sucking
Elson: Not sucking
Evans: Dunking even more
Fesenko: Dunk more, suck less
Hayward: Shoot more, suck less
Jefferson: Stop the hook shot from sucking
AK:Tell your body to stop sucking
Miles:Stop sucking every other day
Okur:Get off the couch and stop sucking
Price:Stop playing, you can suck all you want
Watson: Your shot is ugly, make it less ugly
Williams: Stop acting like you dont suck
Sap: Go back to your college days of not sucking on the boards

19 Bell, Raja: Be more consistent from the outside -Agreed
16 Elson, Francisco: Don't disappear during the few minutes you're out there.
40 Evans, Jeremy: Outside shot & Strength, and Defense. Being able to be effective with more than 1 play.
44 Fesenko, Kyrylo: Free Throw Shooting (And demand playing time) -Agreed. Fes, at least compared to Millsap and Jefferson, is a god because he actually tries to box out. We need him in their more.
20 Hayward, Gordon: Man to Man defense and strength- Agreed and take more shots. He can hit jumpshots, he needs to stop passing up looks and try to get in the game. He did a good job against the Suns
25 Jefferson, Al: Get to the free throw line (Model Gasol)- Agreed with- Leave the jumpers to Millsap. Or get yourself going with a early dunk. AND I LOVE PICK AND ROLL WITH DERON that should be their first option offensively, the pick and roll from D-Will to Al.
47 Kirilenko, Andrei: Staying Healthy and contributing to the team. Same goes for Memo and Bell, when we have 3 guys in our Core players who are constintlay injured and miss practice, we are going to have a tough time winning games. I don't care who is coaching.
34 Miles, C.J.: Consistant shooting. It is astonishing how he can go from cant miss to air balling jump shots in a matter of minutes. He needs to be making like 1000 jump shots every practice.
24 Millsap, Paul: Where did the rebounding go?-- Agreed. His rebound is really hurting us. If he can't rebound then he needs to go back to coming off the bench, and I think the coaching staff should make that clear to him.
13 Okur, Mehmet: Health! -- Please get healthy. We really need you.
17 Price, Ronnie: EVERYTHING
11 Watson, Earl: Outside shot, bring bench together. This has to be the hottest/coldest bench, we never know what we'll get. IF they can't score Earl needs to bring them together and play D/slow down game. We cant afford the bench to cost us any more games.
8 Williams, Deron: Defense, turnovers, and Leadership. Your a super star point guard, if one of the core guys isnt going, you have to get him going. With Andre secretly happy everytime he gets injured so he can go home, no sign of Memo, and Bell just being really old, you cant let millsap or al(or god forbid, both) disappear.

The whole team needs to sharpen their passing game, IMO; too many soft passes leading to turnovers. Also we don't cut sharply on motion plays offensively; casually trotting dosesn't get it for me! Play defense with their FEET; too many games we simply don't hustle defensively.
19 Bell, Raja: Help DWill with team leadership, both on the court and off. Doesn't need a lot of minutes; share the media spotlight with DWill.
16 Elson, Francisco: Spend more time in the paint; it's nice he has a jump shot, but we need his presence in the paint.
40 Evans, Jeremy: Concentrate more on overall defense and learn the art of rebounding, which is sorely needed right now. Dare he consult with Dennis Rodman? He really understood how to position himself for rebounds despite being a light-weight and only 6'8"! Both have similar athleticism...
44 Fesenko, Kyrylo: Focus in practice more to earn that PT in games. Fes, at least compared to Millsap and Jefferson, is a god because he actually tries to box out. HE KNOWS HOW TO PLAY BASKETBALL; now he needs to take it seriously. He gets too reckless and sloppy with the ball on offense, leading to many goofy "shots" and turnovers.
20 Hayward, Gordon: This kid knows how to play the game, works hard at it without getting reckless and out of control. All he needs is PT and he'll continue to improve. I would like to see Corbin use him at SG over SF, as his quickness laterally is way better than his strength. He gets overpowered at SF too much, and Lord knows we need another SG! A bit late for strength-training this season, but needs to hit the weights this summer...
25 Jefferson, Al: Big Al looks a bit slow to me; probably having to think too much in the Jazz's very complex offense. The guy plays hard. His reboundiing and boxing out need work too. He needs to watch his weight and run more too; looks a li'l outa shape to me...
47 Kirilenko, Andrei: With the frequency of his injuries, I'd seriously consider bringing him off the bench. Without his defense, we tend to tank most of the time defending. I'd cut his minutes, as he tends to play great at times, then disappears. We do need his defense, and he can be the X-factor on the boards too.
34 Miles, C.J.: Stop cranking up shots like a dang pitching machine and play within the team offense more. And, stop reaching and grabbing on defense. Good defense is played with the head and the feet FIRST!!
24 Millsap, Paul: It's great he's learned a lot of offensive moves and improved his jump shot to replace Boozer's scoring, but that eats up a lot of energy which is needed for rebounding. If he's gonna be a major scorer, we need to get Fes or Elson starting at C and move Big Al to starting PF, IMO. Let Millsap come off the bench and back up both SF AND PF, or even start at SF and let Kirilenko back him up.
13 Okur, Mehmet: Health! -- Please get healthy. We really need you.
17 Price, Ronnie: 3rd string SG and PG. A sparkplug who runs hot and cold, and probably always will be.
11 Watson, Earl: Actually has been one of our most consistant players. He's really played well, as well as any b/u PG in the NBA. He may need to recognize when he's got an easy basket opportunity better; seems to pass up some easy ones.
8 Williams, Deron: Don't try to do everything yourself. Don't be afraid to tell your teammates you need their help big-time to get this season turned around. Deron's got all the talent in the world, but he's one man. Even MJ had Pippen and others to give him valuable contributions.

Maybe I don't remember a young Rodman but did you just say he has similar Athleticism to Evans? Really?

Yeah, before he was a starter with the Pistons, him and John Salley (C/PF) would come off the bench. Rodman was a pogo-stick just like Evans; both extremely quick leapers. I remember reading an article on how Rodman studied the heck out of rebounding angles and such, which when paired with his quickness afoot, simply got him into position to grab rebounds before his opponent could. All his craziness later on in life aside, the man could flat rebound!!

Wasn't old enough to see Rodman's Pistons days live, but I've seen alot of his old games on tape and Rodman ran like a gazelle. He could really get up quick off the floor, although not quite as springy. Evans is probably a little more of a vertical player (heck he can easily get up to the top of the square), much more lanky and nowhere near the positional or perimeter defender Rodman was (Rodman was so versatile he could guard 4 positions and was one of the Pistons' best defenders to guard Jordan and Magic). The other underrated thing about Rodman was he also had a high basketball IQ - that often got overlooked/contradicted by his antics and sporadic 3pt attempts.

Back in December or so I compared Evans to "Bo Outlaw with offensive upside." I think that's Evans' game for the next couple seasons - energy/hustle/above the rim plays. With good hands and a solid-looking mid-range jumper - I think I like him more as an athletic 4 than a tall 3.

Okay. I really did not watch the Piston's early in Rodman's career. Later on he was just a good rebounder by getting position and anticipating where the ball would end up.

Bell: 3 point shooting. Jazz 3 pt% has dropped off considerably since last season yet we are taking more attempts(explain that logic) . Your career 3pt% is 40%, that's what we need. Also I like when you play strong defense but you ruin it with your flopping, the refs are on to you, they either don't make the call (leaving a player wide open) or they call the foul on you.

Elson: you really seem tentative out there, so much so I think you forget to shoot it even when you are wide open. If you get a shot, take it! Quit being so passive.

Evans: try to expand your game, you are a talented kid that can go a long way with hard work.

Fesenko: show more intensity, use all that rave energy you have stored up

Hayward: don't let veteran players get into your head, just play your game

Jefferson: Go to the gym and work on your shooting touch around the rim. Work on laying the ball softer on the rim, you miss to many shots because of this. Also use your body to box people out instead of just trying to out jump people.

Kirilenko: get healthy, you are not use to us watching from the sidelines

Miles: first time you think about shooting, drive to the hoop! in fact drive to the hoop as much as possible and use your athleticism to get to the line, than you will feel comfortable about shooting the ball from the perimeter. The great players in the game get that concept, seems like you don't.

Millsap: just continue working in the gym, you've shown great improvements on your shooting ability, no reason to stop now.

Memo: you've been through some tough times, just keep a positive attitude and things will work out

Price: you are in a major slump, go back to what got you into the league - hustle plays and heart.

Watson: just keep doing what you are doing, but know your range, dribble up and take a closer jumpshot if there is space.

Deron: be more aggressive, we don't need you taking shots on the perimeter we need you either creating shots for other guys or yourself. you are one of the best play making pg's in the game now show it off more.

I think all these posts that mention Deron as having flaws need to be deleted.

He might not read this site, but you never know about employees, relatives and friends.

Do you want the Jazz to lose Deron?!!! That's what will happen with anti-Deron propaganda like this. He'll leave!

This type of hate made Chaplin leave America. Every half-century or so we lose an artist, an icon, a great man like that. Please, don't let it be Deron.

Combined with all the national media lies, he may just go play for Israel or something.

Also, these Sloan tributes need to stop. Deron didn't ignore Sloan for nothing. He hated that ****er.

Whats your agenda here?

Everyone - Play tougher.

If you have the fouls to give, do not not let an uncontested dunk happen, especially at Home.

It does make them think 2wice on super leaps. Good hard, clean fouls are good for the league and creates an aura about the team.

He's not. He's being a moran.

Everyone needs to improve in one area. Play like you care...

Defend even if you don't feel like it.
Try harder if you don't have the talent or skill.
Act like you are a team even if you don't like some players.
Run the offense and don't take plays off as if it were your job to do so, and maybe more.
Support each other when things go rough, don't chuck people under the bus.
Come into the game ready to play no matter if you are playing 3 minutes or 30.
Hold your head up. You are the JAZZ.

If they all do these things, no matter what the outcome, I am pretty sure I speak for everyone on this forum that we will not be disappointed. That we will cheer with enthusiasm, and that we will hope to keep the group together longer.

If they don't/won't do these things, then to hell with them all. Get in some players that do care.

Everyone needs to improve shooting, rebounding, defense, ball handling, passing, actually running the Jazz's offense, playing with 100 % effort, not fouling, getting to the FT line, and actually boxing out(pssssssss that means you Big Al. Hand checking Lopez isn't boxing out).

Post what each player should improve on to make the team better (And maybe who they should model there games after)

44 Fesenko, Kyrylo: I tell Fes between every other beer to learn the damn system. He looks like a lost yearling out there flapping arms while jumping in and out of the lane every posession, followed by a pick attempt that just gets in someone's way. Seriously, bro, what are you doing
20 Hayward, Gordon: General growth (hopefully like General Growth's stock price). Hustle last night showed sparks of brilliance and was huge in keeping the Jazz in the game. Keep that up.
25 Jefferson, Al: Pass out of the triple team--your results there are terrible and not going to improve. Keep improving that shooting %, and get to the line more. Up from 46% to 48.3% on the season. Nice work!
47 Kirilenko, Andrei: Great glue this year. Keep your heart and head strong. You're staring down your last shot at a championship run.
34 Miles, C.J.: Get to the free throw line! Great scorers shoot free throws. You're not a good scorer yet, and you shoot very few free throws. Coincidence?
24 Millsap, Paul: That outside shot is silky smooth. Add a jumper to your drive next.
17 Price, Ronnie: Work on a new career, cause this one is about to end.
11 Watson, Earl: Outside shot
8 Williams, Deron: Defense, turnovers & trust your teammates more
