Preseason Game 1: Utah @ Portland, Monday Dec 19th, 8pm MST

Good thing Ty switched to a different defense.(sarcasm) Our defense didn't switch on all the picks Portland was setting and our offense was not moving. Our PG's couldn't penetrate. Our wings were just standing on the side asking for the ball. And when Jefferson was posting, all four players were standing and watching.

It seems to me that Jazz get killed on both sides of the court by failing to execute basic fundamentals. I think that's what gets CJ, Devin, Bell, Jefferson in trouble. If the vets can't execute, let's play the youth movement!

As to lesser players, Kanter has to get sidelined. He shows a lot of promise banging inside, but he's a worthless defender right now. Bell and Kanter are the guys that need to get taken out of the rotation as we try to implement Ty's schemes (whatever they are, because right now they don't look too great.)

CJ was actually killing our defense in the first quarter with poor rotations, getting absolutely pinned on screen (Not as bad a Harris though), and playing help defense when his man is 1 pass away on the 3 point line.

I think he could still have some value to playoff team as a scoring threat off the bench. That's how Utah should be showcasing him. Let him come in and knock down a few threes, then get his *** back out before he actually has to guard anyone.

Utah needs to try and get some trade value out of him.
