Maybe, but probably not. It appears that the virus arrived here long before we were even thinking about blocking it from arriving. In addition to that, I believe there would have been an unmanagable backlash against the plan you suggested. The reason the quarantine was accepted by so many people is that we were seeing the disaster in Italy. Prior to the Italian situation I don't think drastic measures would have gained public support.

TL/DR I think there is a 0% chance your plan could have been successfully implemented in America.

Historically no. Unfortunately democrats need someone to fall in love with in order for them to get enough folks off their asses to vote an incumbent out of office. 16 years ago you can replace the names Trump and Biden with Bush and Kerry and you heard your exact same argument.

Not so ironically, you'd probably have to go back to Herbert Hoover to find the condition you described above.

If Trump continues to say and do enough mind numbingly dumb **** at the rate he has been, then anything is possible - but it's an uphill climb no matter how you look at it.

Multitasking on a computer isn’t really that hard. I can show you if you really want me to. It’s not like the conservative pro trump/Flynn/Stone/Obamagate arguments are particularly difficult to dismantle.

Most of us have been working from home on computers for the last 2 months anyway. And if I had to take a guess, most of us will be working from home for the rest of 2020. So when you have an office with multiple monitors and you’ve been working remotely for a while, it’s not difficult to write a few messages of a few paragraphs on a message board in a day.

I’ll admit though, the board is becoming boring. No sports and the political talk has become stagnant.

No, i already thought had we had agreed and moved on from the 1/3 thing. I mean 1/3 (and more) will vote for him due to being partisan sheep. We all know that as a certainty already.
I have been discussing something unique to trump hardcore supporters which is a devotion and fandom that we typically never see. These crazies will vote for him no matter what he does and think of him as a messenger from god. He could come to some peoples homes (like pjf) and bang their wives and daughters and poop on their carpet and could still count on getting their votes. That aint normal and its absurd voters like that of which im currently discussing.

If we got a time machine and brought full on nutz Nazi Hitler from like 1940 and had him try to attack an armed Trump (there's really zero reason to believe Trump knows how to operate a firearm, but whatever) and Trump managed to shoot and kill him I bet there would be a lot more harcore Trump supporters. Although it would be a tradeoff, because some of his current supporters would leave him for killing their true idol.
