Gotta find the web developers one too. Honestly, he is one of the most passionate CEOs I know of. If you have something against microsoft, I don't think it should be because of him.

XB1 does seem to have the advantage as a full multimedia experience, something Microsoft will push all the harder now. Problem is, I still think they've misread how many people actually care about those features. Some people will, for sure, but I know I don't.

Microsoft just hasn't been making good decisions or design choices lately. Two of their last three PC OSes sucked (Vista and Windows 8, though at least they had Windows 7 between), and then they did this XB1 thing. Apparently their market research just blows, and/or their execs just aren't plugged in to what the average consumer wants and cares about in their tech.

Exactly. I just don't care about the multimedia options. I care about gaming first and foremost. I don't care about connecting my system to my FB account etc. I get that XBox 1 has some nice exclusives. Still not enough for me to spend 100 extra dollars on. Right now I have a PS3 and a 360. The 360 collects dust. Different people are going to prefer different things. Some will love Playstation while others will love XBox. One good thing is that the consumers slapped XBox into now offering something at least comparable in terms of used games and internet requirements or the lack there of.

I'll wait a few years until the XO price has dropped to $300 and get it for the exclusives.

I Donno if the guy made any valid points, but I couldn't get past the first ten minutes because I have literally never had any of the problems he had. I feel like both vids you posted say the same thing, computer illiterates will struggle adapting. Definitely an issue.. but not for me and I assume not for you.

Granted, I use a windows 8 as it is meant to be used (touch input in metro, peripheral input using legacy progs in desktop).

Have you watched the 2nd video? It shows more what's a new person would have to go through...

Here's a shorter one..

Yeah I did, and I said that its potentially difficult for the computer illiterate. But its entirely intuitive with touch input. The problem is they optimized a ui dependent on touch as the main interface for desktop users. But if you have a touch enabled computer, as almost all companies have come out with over the last nine months, then its not such an issue.

Definite learning curve, admittedly not the best, but it has become powerful and convenient a year into its use.

I just don't like the inconsistency between the "windows" interface and the "Metro" interface. I don't like to touch my laptop's screen. And if I don't use it for that, the "Metro" interface is basically useless to me.

I just feel like Microsoft tried to "imposed" on users this "Metro" design just so that it can sell the Windows version of their mobile OS. To me a computer OS should enable the user to be "productive" rather than gimmicky. To me Windows 8 is gimmicky. I wonder how many Corporations will be upgrading to Windows 8.

How did they impose anything on anyone? Windows 7 is still receiving updates. They are not shuttering anything... They aren't pulling a Sony and installing things on your computer without your permission.

I understand your reservations, sounds like windows 8 is not for you. Just don't understand the imposing line.

Well if you're buying a new computer today, you can't use Windows 7. That's why PC sales have plummetted since the release of Windows 8.

I suspect they'll have to go back to a simpler version in the next revision. (ala XP -> Vista -> Windows 7). This is classic Microsoft, what happened today with XBOX One is just more of the same.
