oh, ok. That totally makes sense. I didn't realize that you were saying if we wanted to be a playoff team this year. Burke at 19 and 6 would be epic though, even if we didnt make the playoffs.

Completely agree. If Burke does 19 and 6, whoa. Grand Slam. Deron who? lol.

I would bet money that Burke gets no where near 19 a game. I think his first year he will be closer to 10 a game.

What Burke and any other point guard should do when they first come in is see how many assists they can average. I'd love to see 5 ppg and 12 apg rather than 19 & 6. I don't get players these days. Has no one told them that assists get you paid too?

*mind blown

Deron averaged 10/5 as a rookie, so If Burke could average about the same, I'd be happy with that.

I think if he plays at least 30 mins, he easily gets 15 pts and 11 boards. I also agree the blocks are low, he averaged 1.7 in 20 mins.

It wouldn't be that easy to get 11 boards. Not that he is not good enough rebounder but because of he will be playing along side Enes. If they both could grab around 10 rebs a game, Utah can be one of the top rebounding teams in the league.

He grabbed 7 in 20 mins, I think he can get 11 in 30-35 even with Kanter next to him. They both grab enough offensive boards to do it, and I think we will be a much better rebounding team, my only hesitation is if Hayward can start to rebound. It's not that he cant, it's that he doesn't. I'm not sure if that's because of the scheme and coach sends him on a break after the shot or what but I would like to see him avg at least 5.

I hope you are right. We would be probably the only team with two 10+ rebounders and it would make us known by our rebounding in the NBA. That kind of renown and respect is important in a year that we are expected to tanksuck.

Yea, it might be a little high. Last year Portland had 2 that got 10 and 9. It's doable, but possible. I also think if the defense gets better, there are more rebounds to get.

I will be surprised if Burke averages more than 10-12 ppg this season. 4-6 assists could be the right range. so 11 pts and 5 assists seems realistic and would be good. I don't see him scoring as much as some seem to think he will. The adjustment to the NBA game will drag his scoring down.

Burks - 8 shots a night, including 1 3pt. 2 fta. At 42% fg, 34% 3pt, and 70% ft, that puts him at 8 pts a game.

No way Burks would average as low as 8. 14 is my guess.

Burke 10/6
Burks 14/5
Hayward 16/5/4
Kanter 16/12
Favors 14/12

That's 70.

Boom. I said Burke would average the most shots on the team. In the games he has played, he has the most shots in 5 out of 7 games and the two games were the first two games, where he played 12 mins and 20 mins and still took 8 shots in each of those games.

I also said if he averaged 19 points, we would be a playoff team. In our three wins, he has averaged 18 points. We will go as far as Burke can carry us.

I don't think he keeps this up, but he is a very, very nice player, and he is the leader we desperately need, and he will be big time for us in his role. And he won't be a big assist man. It isn't his game.

I actually think the assists will come as he gets more experience. To say that is not his game seems a little off to me. He runs the pick and roll nicely and by virtue of that fact, he'll get assists. Plus he can draw and kick. He did that last night when he passed to Hayward who then swung it to Marvin. I think Trey averages around 8 to 9 assists in his prime.

Oh, he will get more assists, but he won't ever be a 8+ a night guy. He will be a 5-6 per night guy, MAYBE a 7 once or twice in his career. Especially if the Jazz get a Jabari in the draft.

Holy ****. I just looked at my options for Favors and my first option is almost exactly what he is doing now...I'm amazing.

Disagree bro, and if he does ever average more than 8 assists a game, I'll be there to remind you about it. haha :)
