Uh... That's the guy who has received a divine commission from Larry H. himself.

He was made aware that the great and dreadful day of Ante Tomic was near, even at the doors.

No, you're Beantown.
After reading through this thread and the links you guys provided(rep coming) I think I'm going to like this guy. This hire was about more than getting a good coach, it was about branding. One used to hear the phrase "Utah Jazz brand of basketball". The recipe changed for the worse and like new Coke(no pun intended) it just wasn't the ****ing same.
We all want an NBA champs banner to fly at ESA but let's be honest, even if we make all the right moves it's going to take a lot of luck as well. I am excited that regardless of who we draft or how much luck we have I will be able to watch "Jazz Basketball" starting next season under coach One N.
Note: I know that Snyder has an N in it.
Good points. Someone else mentioned how these Corbin years were so dark and we lacked an identity. Can't even explain his nice it is that Ty the Turd is gone and we have Quin in place.
Ettore Messina I think was used to get information on Quin Snyder, I'm not entirely sure Ettore Messina was ever a candidate for the head coach opening. I think management made sure they covered all their bases in the coaching search and got the information they needed from Messina on Snyder. So I'm not entirely sure if Ettorre Messina ever was a real candidate for the head coach opening, so that should put your disappointment to rest that Messina was just used for his knowledge on Snyder.
it depends where messina and blatt will land
if they will land in nba, then the jazz just lost the battle for a better candidate
well, from what i saw, dude looks not very fresh, he's kind of like after a serious illness )) the same with his voice
i don't like or dislike him, but i wouldn't hired him, my prediction is not very good on this guy
Here's some interesting thoughts from Lions Roar (I think that's his name here) :
"@nsanba: Not super excited that Q said he would take upon himself to take care of D."
"@nsanba: Quin Snyder Austin Toros teams were never very good defensivelly."
"@nsanba: Quin Snyder's Mizzou team were also bad defensively compared w/ the teams recent history."
"@nsanba: Atl, LAL and Philly were middling defenses when Q was there as an assistant coach. The Jazz need to get a D specialist assistant."
Hard to argue with what he's saying. I know I'd feel better with an assistant coach that specializes running the defense.

^Agreed^
Honestly, I don't know why teh NBA is so behind the NFL when it comes to specialization of assistants. I like how in the NFL, assistants are given titles (Defensive Coordinator, Linebackers Coach, etc.).
Jazz need a defensive coordinator, shooting coach, and a big man coach for sure. Let Snyder coordinate the offense and focus on teaching the PNR.
